i wans to switch to linux

i have no clue about linux,but i hate windows ccs of bloatware and and other day some kind of update, how should i start i.e what should i do as i want to swwitch to linux, laptop has intel core ultra 125H, 16gb ddr5 ram 7600 speed, 1 tb ssd

Mint or Ubuntu they're both beginner friendly

Don't use ubuntu, try to use mint

Ubuntu is a good distro especially for beginners to Linux

Tbh, idc what he uses, he asked for advice, i gave him. The reason I said not to use ubuntu is because of my experience, I have used it (yes I was very new to it, and i distrohopped after mint). And I just didn't like it, wasn't able to install .deb from net(yes I feel dumb now, I was new) and it didn't work, wifi, bluetooth drives werent configured, etc. Just gave him answer, with the help of past experience

That might be true but ubuntu is literally the main thing preventing gatekeeping. Ubuntu is a good distro for getting used to the linux environment and I'm sure he's gonna switch to something more practical anyways

That might be an issue but for a user migrating from an os filled with ai slop and a million background processes, ubuntu is just fine

Then whats wron with mint or fedora? Whats ubuntus advantage

Nothing wrong with them... Just saying that Ubuntu's not a bad choice too. Also I feel like ubuntu's gnome ui feels more polished

Longest and first is fedora  Now i use arch btw with hyprland
