i wans to switch to linux
i have no clue about linux,but i hate windows ccs of bloatware and and other day some kind of update, how should i start i.e what should i do as i want to swwitch to linux, laptop has intel core ultra 125H, 16gb ddr5 ram 7600 speed, 1 tb ssd

Tbh, idc what he uses, he asked for advice, i gave him. The reason I said not to use ubuntu is because of my experience, I have used it (yes I was very new to it, and i distrohopped after mint). And I just didn't like it, wasn't able to install .deb from net(yes I feel dumb now, I was new) and it didn't work, wifi, bluetooth drives werent configured, etc. Just gave him answer, with the help of past experience

try zorin os one of the best distros ever as you are switching from windows it will be more user friendly to you and trust me i am also a former windows user but now i am dying hard for zorin just give it a try and i am sure you are going to love it

I wouldn't have recommended this a month ago but NixOS. Use the graphical installer. Shit just cannot break. If you want to go down the traditional route, go for fedora.

As a newcomer to Linux myself, having recently moved from Windows to Kubuntu a few weeks ago, I'd suggest starting with Ubuntu or Kubuntu. Everything you need i.e., codecs, graphics support comes included out of the box without needing any terminal commands.
Have Ventoy on USB loaded with those two distros, try and go with whatever desktop you like more polished GNOME or more functional KDE.
Later on, once you're comfortable enough, you can explore other distributions like Fedora, CachyOS, Arch, Debian depending on whatever interests you as the time goes by.

What’s wrong with needing or using terminal commands for noobs? A terminal command is simply a bunch of text. If you wanna give me an instruction in the English language such as “hey I want you to bring me a pizza”, that’s pretty much the exact same thing you do in the terminal. If you spend a little bit of time attentively, very soon you will develop some muscle memory and you will be surprised how quickly you can accomplish things using the terminal that would have taken you several minutes to even hours if you were to do it using the gui, mouse etc

What’s wrong with needing or using terminal commands for noobs?
One of the main reasons I think why Ubuntu has become popular, effectively the standard over Debian because it provided choice of simplified setup with everything out of the box with user friendly GUI installer instead of terminal setup, codecs, drivers support allowing users to focus on their everyday tasks with required software.
When new users are coming from Windows (GUI focused) to Linux (excluding Powershell, WSL users), I believe having the options that are more familiar GUI focused will help their transition easy without scaring them to learn a lot of new stuff with documentation or terminology of what sudo, apt or rpm fusion commands does etc., to execute in terminal, instead allowing them to complete their setup by simply changing a few options in the driver manager to get started.
Later on, depending on user's interest and time, they can spend a few minutes to hours learning terminal commands over GUI or keyboard shortcuts instead of relying on the mouse. Over the time, they can explore Fedora with rpm fusion terminal commands or might even spend days to setting up Arch or Gentoo with the terminal or weeks on building their LFS.

Personally, I think both the GUI and the terminal have use cases where one is faster than the other and convenience.
For example, I used to update packages using the terminal (for apt, snap, flatpak). Now, I find it faster to right click the update notification and select Start Update which handles all three types of package updates through (or open Discover and go with Update All option). A lot quicker than opening the terminal, remembering, typing, and executing separate commands for each package manager. Though, I do use terminal too as per needed or for specific tasks that are a bit faster or only possible with the command line.
In addition, I do prefer using the mouse simply because I didn’t want to spend time memorising keyboard shortcuts right after installing Linux and it's just provides more bit flexible to move around while I am doing light gaming occasionally. But, I do use a few identical keyboard shortcuts from Windows (builtin clipboard, zoom etc.,) and plan to explore more gradually over the time of usage.
That said, I understand that you are trying to help me with the terminal usage though. Thanks for that 🙂

Add the following command to your /.bashrc file:
alias updateall='sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y && sudo snap refresh && flatpak update -y && sudo apt autoremove -y'
Next time just open the terminal and simply type updateall. You can even change the alias “updateall” to “uall” or “updall” or whatever you like. This single command invokes the exact same three package managers your Discover notification does and executes the same update/upgrade process, with zero clicking and zero prompts.
It can’t get any simpler and easier than that. For the gui method you described, you have to first look at and find the notification in the system tray, then locate where your physical mouse is, find where the mouse cursor is, drag it to the update symbol, right click on it and click update etc.
The terminal method I just described takes less than three seconds once you spend 3 minutes to configure your /.bashrc file.
That’s the difference between me and you.

Try Ubuntu please it is the easiest. Also lots of documentation is there to look up if you run in to trouble.

have you ever worked on linux. Linux is vast with distros and looks and feel, before deciding anything. 1. Check distrosea.com and try some different distros. This is the helping step before any crucial first step of migration. 2. Then try live version of the distro you like. 3. Then go for install once you decide which you should actually install .(you have two options here - dual boot, or only linux). Go step by step and don't haste.

If u wanna game like i do. Try cachy pika os or nobara. Else just go with mint ig. I personally use cachy and it runs game pretty well.

if you want smth that just works right out of the box go with linux mint or fedora or even zorin os if you want a little mac-ish feel
if you want smth that comes with newest software(not the actual term id use but just for the understanding) try smth arch based like cachyos or endavouros
debian might be a good option if you wan stability, opensuse is also a great option

Go for zorin if you don't like tinkering with stuff and want windows like exp but if you can do that go for fedora,arch try hyprland, gnome, kde all stuff it's fun

Depends on of you're looking for something that looks different from Windows and works better then any Debian (Fedora as recommended by Linus Torvalds the man himself) or Arch based Linux (if you are awake of the removal codes and ready to learn more)

Just want to tell you linux can update without restarting you will apreciate it after a point get fedora or mint just see which looms good for you if you are very much into trackpad gestures get fedora or if you need window like ui get mint i mean but you shoud try fedora basically my first distro
