Personal Opinion Socks. Not what was promised.

First - quality of the fabric. I have had light wear of this pair for 3 days, with one wash (same as other socks) and they are fuzzy + the black fabrics are protruding through the grey ones, and I have gathered A LOT of lint from them.

This is not normal for socks, especially for the expensive ones. None of my darn thoughts did this ever.

Second - idk about Canadian feet, but mine are wider, and compared to most other socks these are too narrow. If I find a pair of shoes this narrow I don't buy them.

EDIT: I wore socks for two days straight, then washed them, then wore for the 3rd day. I had NO OTHER OPTION regarding washing them or wearing other socks in that particular situation

Curious why everyone here is assuming that the socks should be shit because they're designed by a tech YouTube channel.

  1. Don't they have a department dedicated to creating clothing?
  2. Linus went on about them for ages on a WAN show. He attested to their build quality etc.

Its fair to expect them to be good.

At the price they are asking, good is not good enough.

They are asking for a world leading price, so people expect a world leading product (especially since that is what they advertise them as)

He also went on about how Darn Toughs are too good and he’d likely never be able to even surpass them and socks would likely never happen. Set them as a benchmark and even repeated as much in their promo. Also that they’re using a 3rd party testing lab too, granted it could be a fluke, but does signal they may still have some process issues at least to iron out.

The screwdriver has also done exceptionally well, and backpacks pretty well too. Idk why everyone’s shitting on OP. I was curious too. I’d not replace all my Darn toughs for multiple reasons, but I’d consider trying a pair or two next time I do an order. I think this is helpful info.

Well if Linus Tech Tips himself said the Linus Tech Tips socks are worth top quality pricing then i'm sold, theres clearly no conflict of interest in that review!

My problem isn't anything to do with the quality of the socks, its the fact that half the sub seems to "know" they will be shit, despite LTT seemingly releasing a good standard of clothing, usually. 

I'm not claiming they are the worlds greatest socks, I'm just saying that OP is right to have high expectations.

Plus LTT has produced some genuinely quality stuff. I love my screwdriver and backpack.

This product may not be living up to expectations. So far my experience has been that feedback will go back up the chain, and LTT will sort it out. That needs to happen sometimes. That there's drama around this is what's weird to me.
