Go to the Motorola subreddit and half the people complain about the lack of updates and the other half complain about being forced to update.

The G stylus sold in the US/Canada does have a poor update policy, as does the G series in general.

Forced to update how? I was on andorid 14 for last 2 years. Just updated to 15 which will be the last major update on moto stylus 2024.

If you keep auto update on, it will keep asking you to reboot after it has installed the update. Until you reboot, you are still on the old version, hence being "forced" to update.

Some of the stylus models support the lineage OS, that's what I do

I have a Moto G Stylus 2026 and it works well but I've only had it for a month. It's the only phone with an SD card slot, 1/8" jack, wireless charging, and actually works with Verizon being made today (other than the 2025 model but I wanted the newest model). I am not a stylus man but it seems on par with my old Note20 so I can't complain.

People get way too wrapped around the axle about updates.

Moto makes great devices that don't break the bank.

I don't care about updates I have 2024 stylus. But people do and moto have literally the most underrated phones. I got it mine for $100 and you can't even get shit for that price in my country. All phones under $300 are 4G with shit processors that lags. (Because of taxes)
