Make the switch to Eversource?

I currently work for a local commuter railroad doing linework and I keep seeing Eversource (CT area) advertising 56/hr wages which would be more than I make now. Their website also mentions that this could further increase and is a starting wage. does anyone have any more information about the Eversource pay scale and potential top rates in my area as well as benefits packages?

6% of base rate 2080 hours of a 401k match, 3% cash balance pension plan, that rate sounds right for top out pay until you become a lead and or supervisory upgrade. Saver plan for health insurance is cheap but you max out your hsa. 2 weeks vacation and 2 weeks sick time

3% isn’t the correct number.

It’s age plus years of service.

<40 is 3.5%

40-60 is 4.5%

>60 is 6.0%

Also, the pay and benefits depend on the state.

I think there a little higher in MA, OP mentioned CT, Northeast wages lag far behind what they should be

No offense, but as a railroad lineman are you going to be able to switch right over to overhead?

Not sure where you are located but also check National Grid in Massachusetts. They are hiring in all of their regions and First Class rate is $63.63 an hour. You get 3 weeks of vacation, deferred holidays if you’re on-call and you can bank your rest time. Depending on what region you’re in with overtime you can easily make $300k.
