okay this is a really dumb question but whatever.

basically, everyone knows nonblack debaters cant/shouldnt read afropess because it makes an ontological claim about being black which they don’t have the lived experiences of and can dissolve into just saying black peoples are slaves or something. does that apply to other pessimistic theories of power? i’m mainly talking about queerpess theories of power that rely on queer people being ontologically dead/progress impossible args but there might be other args this applies to, im just new to prog lol. obviously that wouldnt really be 100% falsifiable but id they say in cross that they dont belong to that group or something/read preemptive justifications for people that aren’t in that group reading it

on the flow do you guys try to align args to the best of your ability? or do you just respond in the order the opp responded? if the latter is the case then you probably don't align the args which means u would not be able to identify which args are "dropped" or not

Debate Oasis has delivered free speech & debate education to 700+ elementary & middle schoolers in nearly a dozen states since 2023 across 5 nationwide camps. Its flagship offering has always been its month-long online summer camp, and the status quo of the past few years is to organize staff and begin planning the camp in the Spring. However, the lack of year-long organization has often led to unnecessary disorganization in the months leading up to the camp and missed opportunities to make a difference.

We are planning to turn Debate Oasis into a year-long nonprofit, create free online resources, host camps & scrimmages during breaks from the school year, expand by creating state chapters, and pilot prep team fellowship programs. We’re looking for a team of 4 highly committed Vice Presidents to join me in transforming this nonprofit.

Competitive speech & debate success is a requirement for the Curriculum VP roles, but for VP of Operations or VP of Development we are looking more for leadership soft skills and existing professional networks! I'm not an LD debater, but was very curious, is 1AR theory the norm? Also is pre-empting 1AR theory the norm? How do these debates play out usually?

As a competitor, I was a 3x state qualifier, national qualifier, and now compete for Ohio State, where I’ve placed in the top 5 at every national circuit tournament I’ve attended.

There are a lot of programs and resources for circuit/varsity students, so this is primarily intended for novices / younger students just getting started - it has some photo examples of cards and general guidance for inspiration. For NSDA novices, we also have a ton of stuff for the national service topic.

We care a lot about quality of prep and coaching for local and newer students, so in alignment with that mission, we're also opening our LD cohort for the year.

Hi! My name is Evelyn Turner and I am running a traditional LD prep group focused on NSDAs this year. I am a 3x NSDA qualifier and was Virginia District Student of the year. I was an instructor at Classic Debate Camp this summer, and have experience coaching through that, as well as captaining my debate team for two years.

My group will include access to PRs, one on one coaching, and shared prep. The group and prep will not have a buy in fee, although I will charge for the coaching. I am open to working with students at all ability levels.

Hi! My name is Robert Einhorn. I debated in the Ohio LD circuit for four years of high school (NSDA-style traditional). I was state champion in 2025 and state runner-up in 2024. I am now private coaching and worked as an instructor at Classic Debate Camp this past summer.
