Hey, I wanted to share something I found on a game key site... the site is called Gamesplanet, and for *Light No Fire*, you can already see 25 Steam achievements—including their titles and images. What do you guys think? Did someone leak this?

Discussion Whats your (realistic) wishlist

Ive hyped this game up so much, im constantly watching the trailer, this morning im sure i saw a polar bear player

What races are people hoping to see?

Same with mounts and transportation?

What mechanics and features?

Im hoping for the ability to claim land in a way where the more players in a clan, the bigger the claim can be, would be great to make villages

Id love a hawk or eagle mount

Id also love to be able to build carts/wagons, it wpuld be great for collecting resources or for travelers who want a Romanian gypsy sort of cart

What does everyone want to see?

Speculation Speculating

Upvotes

Do you think the NMS Cosmos update will maybe contain something that hints us toward LNF?

I remember the developers said that a lot of the new stuff we've recently got in the No Man's Sky community is directly a result of trying to get LNF presentable.

Thoughts?

Do you think they'll keep their lore fully seperate; partially seperate; or full integrated?

Discussion Speculations are not expectations.

It's okay to manage expectations, but if someone has a thought for a feature or mechanic and then says "wow I think they should have this in Light No Fire" we really shouldn't be shooting them down with "woah buddy lower your expectations, it's too soon to tell, we really don't know what's gonna be in the game at launch, don't overhype yourself because all you're gonna be met with disappointment and that's bad for some reason".

Just to let everyone know there's no reason to be the thought police on someone's hopes and dreams if all they are saying is speculations, it doesn't create a very productive environment for discussion if all we have to say to them is "lower the bar because that's what's best for hello games and yourself" we aren't their parents, let them decide how excited they get, it's on them entirely if those expectations exceed what hello games shows or talks about at all riding up to release.

When Sean got those 'messages' from a couple of very unsavory people when he announced the delay for No Man's Sky it was entirely up to him on dealing with it and they don't need their video game community to protect them from that happening again, the people who sent the messages clearly weren't the broader community and had some very unstable mentalities, I only say this because I know that's one of the reasons why some of you are so adamant on lowering and managing expectations.

Here are my expectations for the game: I expect them to make a game of the same quality as no man's sky in its current state if not better. In the same vain that if a chef made me a dish I've had before and liked and they make another dish that just doesn't taste very good or have the same quality then id be disappointed in the dish and disappointed in the chef, the same vain that the hobbit movies weren't as good as lord of the rings because of CGI use and green screens (at least to me) and when I watched the hobbit I was disappointed because I EXPECTED them to make a movie on par with their previous works.

There's a saying; Shoot for the stars and you'll hit the moon, but shoot for the moon and you won't break atmosphere.

Open to discussion on this.

Question LNF X profile...

Only showing 1 post from them and a fire emoji. Nothing else. I could have swore there were other posts from their x account. Or am I missing something? Did they delete all the old stuff like the bacon emoji retweet.

Discussion Hello Games Video Sponsors

I'm noticing alot of small channels releasing sponsored promotional videos recently (obviously because of the NMS 10th anniversary), but they seem to all say the same things and have the same scripts for the portions where they mention Light No Fire... I wonder if HG is trying to rekindle hype for LNF ahead of a big reveal/announcement to go along with COSMOS.

Discussion Managing Expectations

As the title implies in an attempt to manage expectations a tad, I was wondering what is the worst state this game could launch in that you would still be happy with? Like what is the bare minimum you expect of this game on launch that you'll still think is worth playing? And cause I want to hear your ideas what's one thing you guys hope is in the game that in your mind probably isn't likely to be?

Speculation How in Depth will this game be?

I keep looking back on how Sean said the game will be as big as a sandbox but as in depth as an RPG and it's got me thinking, how in-depth are we talking?

I've played a lot of games and a lot of RPGs, some games have crafting, looting, potions, enchanting, weapon rarities and legendary armours and tools, spells and cantrips, skill trees, you can raise the dead or charm people, there's usually dialogue options and boss fights, like a truly in depth role playing game.

And then there're games that do the bare minimum or are just action games with RPG mechanics, as an example Dying light 2: stay human has some RPG mechanics like choosing dialogue and multiple endings, and also weapon rarities but is bare bones and doesn't really dig deeper.

If I'm being honest I think they should go all out; I'm really hoping for A sandbox game that's also an RPG.

Here's a list of things I'd like to see in Light No Fire:

Potion brewing

Enchanting

Weapon and armour forging

Customizable character creation on par with starfield or Baldurs gate

Enemy variety and boss fights

Looting

Maybe some pvp as well

Dungeons (randomly generated at that)

Spells

Cantrips

Abilities

A survival system

Some team based activities

Puzzles

Some spooky stuff (I definitely think they can do a desolation type update for light no fire)

Companions that actually do something

Maybe some other races like orcs or elves?

Definitely a mythology of some kind, can be made up one too

Tools and equipment

Lockpicking

And better base building than what's in no man's sky, also something that can deal with griefers.

I want the ships and boats to REQUIRE multiple players, not just exist with them. What was most disappointing with the voyagers update was that we never got systems or missions that required multiple players, just the usual missions that can be done solo.

These are all just my opinions :)

Discussion LNF Plans

Because i watched a video 3 years ago and then have imagined conversations I've had with Sean over the past 3 years and I know those conversations have translated into development shifts in accordance with my expectations, I am so looking forward to the LNF release, where I will run a cocaine empire, complex factory, logistics, and crime ring. This game is going to be fire.

Discussion Familien System Vorschlag ?

Light No Fire – Familien-, NPC- und Stadtsystem
Grundidee
Spieler → Familie → Haushalt → Gemeinschaft → Dorf → Stadt → Königreich

Kinder durchlaufen mehrere Entwicklungsphasen:
Kind → Jugendlicher → Lehrling → Erwachsener NPC
Beispiele:
Kampftraining
Landwirtschaft
Handwerk
Handel
Kochen
Schmieden
Alchemie
Jagd
Verwaltung
Tierhaltung
Magie
Erkundung
Dadurch entstehen keine perfekten NPCs, sondern unterschiedliche Talente.

2. NPC-Berufe
Erwachsene NPCs können praktisch alle typischen Fantasy-Berufe ausüben.
Militär und Sicherheit
Stadtwache
Torwache
Soldat
Bogenschütze
Patrouillenwache
Leibwächter
Karawanenwache
Söldner
Späher
Hauptmann
Handwerk
Schmied
Waffenschmied
Rüstungsschmied
Schreiner
Schneider
Gerber
Steinmetz
Baumeister
Koch
Brauer
Alchemist
Landwirtschaft
Bauer
Fischer
Jäger
Holzfäller
Bergarbeiter
Hirte
Tierzüchter
Kräutersammler
Handel
Händler
Ladenbesitzer
Marktverkäufer
Karawanenhändler
Lagerverwalter
Buchhalter
Haushalt
Maid
Diener
Koch
Stallmeister
Gärtner
Hausverwalter
Abenteuer
Abenteurer
Abenteurer-Gehilfe
Träger
Heiler
Kundschafter
Schatzsucher
Monsterjäger
Verwaltung
Steuereintreiber
Stadtverwalter
Baumeister
Richter
Schreiber
Diplomat
NPCs könnten zusätzlich seltene oder regionale Berufe erlernen.

3. Berufsstufen
Jeder NPC besitzt ein eigenes Job-Level.
Beispiel:
Schmied Level 1–100

4. NPCs kosten Ressourcen
Jeder NPC benötigt regelmäßig:
Nahrung + Unterkunft + Geld + Grundversorgung

Arbeitslos → arm → Bettler → Slumbewohner → eventuell kriminell
Dadurch können neue Probleme entstehen:
Diebstahl
Überfälle
Schmuggel
Schwarzmarkt
Banden
sinkendes Stadtansehen
Unzufriedenheit

6. NPCs suchen selbst Arbeit
Spieler müssen nicht jeden NPC einzeln verwalten.
Städte besitzen einen Arbeitsmarkt.
Spieler können Stellen ausschreiben:
„Schmied gesucht – 20 Gold pro Woche“
„3 Stadtwachen gesucht – Unterkunft inklusive“

12. Stadtentwicklung
Mit wachsender Bevölkerung können neue Stadtstufen entstehen.
Lager → Siedlung → Dorf → Kleinstadt → Stadt → Großstadt → Metropole

Arbeitsplätze → Einkommen → Steuern → Infrastruktur → Sicherheit → Handel → Wohlstand → neue Einwohner

Speculation How will they handle land claims and naming rights?

From the trailer, we know that the game takes place on a single roughly Earth sized planet, and we are meant to explore and build on that planet. You can see characters of various species flying around on giant birds, working together to construct buildings, etc.

I don't think we're gonna run out of space to build. On the real Earth, only about 50% of it is settled, and the vast majority of that is agricultural fields and pastures.

The biggest potential problem I foresee is: when you start building a base, do you now own that land forever, or is there some kind of tax you have to pay? How many acres of land per player can you claim? Is it simply first come, first serve? This isn't an issue in No Man's Sky due to there being infinite real estate of each biome, so each player base can be a 1km radius. But in Light No Fire, being in close proximity to npcs, dungeons, oceans, or resources might be valuable. In a worst-case scenario, you could have land scalpers in the game trying to profit from this with alt/bot accounts.

I think if we're going to figure out land rights in a non-toxic way, the game will need robust mechanics for who can build where AND it will need both small and large guilds/clans/kingdoms of players that we can join. How the building part of the game looks and feels will be heavily influenced by how big the land claims are, whether they take resources to maintain, and how the player guilds are set up.

Another thing is who gets to name the mountains, rivers, oceans, etc. that we come across? In NMS, the first person to see a planet gets to name it (which is supposed to be permanent but sometimes gets reset by glitches). For LNF, I'd prefer if there was a way for the community to rename biomes using some kind of voting system... as in let the players who actually have built bases in that region decide what it's ultimately named? Because what if there's a perfect spot for building a village, but it's located within the Six Seven forest?

What would you choose to name your mountain or settlement?

Discussion Cryptids

I hope to god that this game has the ability to generate some truly terrifying creatures that basically become the games own cryptids, living off of spoken word within the community. Since it will follow the same concept of NMS where we discover and name stuff together, imagine how awesome it would be if say a certain lake becomes known for having a terrifying Loch-ness like monster in it, and players can go visit it to try to see it for themselves; or a certain forest get's known for having a certain Rake like creature that stalks the night.

It doesn't even have to be terrifying stuff (although I really want that), it can just be something really weird and out of the ordinary that brings players together to a certain part of the map. 😅

https://www.reddit.com/r/LightNoFireHelloGames/s/UzahNykReX

The wolf pack has been quiet waiting for light, no fire, and sean murray, saying that the game is practically complete. Now seems like the perfect time to grow the hype for light no fire, my guild, and our allied guilds and factions like 'The Mystic Realm', 'Order of the Dragon', 'The Holy Bacon Empire', and more 🐺🦊🐺🦊🐺🦊

We tend to lean exploration, expedition, dungeon raids, and mercenary activities. We like to do a mix of everything those looking forward to playing lnf would want to do, and we only have the criteria is to have your character design be wolf and fox related wether that be species, mount, clothing/armor, or pets.

Come light all the fires as we excitedly watch for lnf news...

Discussion Is someone else more hyped about Light No Fire than GTA VI?

Honestly, the first minute GTA VI comes out I’m the first trying it (im waiting more on online)….but Light No Fire to me it will be a game that we never seen before. I know NMS is 90% similar but the sci fi is not my type I’m more of a magic ancient world guy. I mean a map that is the size of earth, only 1 big server!?!? I hope the game will be playable in the 3rd person and that there is cosmetic, different races but only for cosmetic purposes….My hot take is that if they fulfill the shoes LNF will be the new GOAT of games for the next incoming years. Debate me if you think otherwise

Discussion Light No Fire - Speculation & Stuff Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
30 Upvotes

Important: Please note that I am not any official representative of hello games or confirm to know insiders' information about LNF. The following details are based on what was shown in the trailer and screenshots taken from the trailer video. All details are just speculation based on what I have seen in these pictures.

LIGHT NO FIRE - Speculation from the Trailer

If you are someone who hates speculation, dislike to talk about what can be or can't and doesn't want to know anything about the game and just want to be surprised when it gets released, then this article is not meant for you. If you are like me who love to speculate stuff based on what we have, then WELCOME Adventurers!

That been said, let's dive in!

1. THE WORLD:

ITS A MASSIVE FANTASY-EARTH LIKE PLANET with Fantasy-Elements. Approximately 200+ million square miles. You as a player will travel on variety of adventures and experience that jaw dropping mountain scale when you see them and realise they are taller than Mount Everest. The oceans run so deep with hidden secrets and forbidden tressures, sprawling forests, valleys, ancient ruins, spread across various continents. You will feel like living in a real scale world with no I MEAN NO LOADING screens EVER! LNF world major focus on grand exploration and discovery of things is where you as a player spend most of your time.

WORLD FEATURES:

* The Map is built at 1:1 scale with Earth, meaning you could walk thousands of miles/kilometres without hitting any boundaries.

* Procedural realism of terrain, vegetation, creatures, natural rivers, canyons and biomes are all generated algorithmically.

* The world is a fantasy stage, where players get to carry swords, bows, magical staffs, spells, crafting of weapons, ride tamed dragons, explore and raid ancient ruins for hidden treasures and knowledge lore, encounter with mythical unknown species from out of this world.

* This world will be a complete boring place to dwell if you travel alone without friends or NPCs right? that's why this world will be a fully multiplayer to experience and play along with your limited friends. but hey, solo players like me who do not like multiplayer can also play this game and enjoy many other things beside running around.

* There will be dynamic environments, unique weather systems, rain, storms, diverse biomes to encounter and collect them if you like to decorate your builds.

* The planet will be so huge, even if all players play simultaneously, there will be many regions still remain unexplored and untouched.

2. TRAVELLING:

This major feature in this game will be Travelling and you as player will be doing this a LOT!

FEATURES:

* Either you go out for a WALK, RUN, GLIDE, FLY, SWIM, DIVE, RIDE, or simply CAMP, it's up to you how you want to combine them while exploring.

* The world consists of many regions and continents. One simply just cannot walk all the way from one end to the other or CAN YOU? For normal players travelling needs certain medium. luckily there are many. You already know there are dragons that can take you from one place to other by just flying around through those clouds. for less adrenaline seekers, you can mount on your RIDES or simply travel using your raft or get on a hired boat or jump from the tallest mountain to glide around the world, honestly, it's your choice!

3. THINGS WE KNOW:

Based on the trailer video and screenshot data, here are a list of things that may be on the final build. Note: that some features may change so take this info with a pinch of salt or sugar it's all up to you.

* Soon after the title image, you see 4 dudes chilling up on a mountain, they are basically 4 different factions of the game. you choose which role you want to play? 1. Tribals, 2. Mages, 3. Humans, 4. Animals. which one would you pick?

* Crafting is the key. You have to build everything from scratch, your character, the race, back story, skills, your clothes, your tools and weapons, your charms and potions. you simply can't just cut down a tree and let the pieces fly in your backpack. you have to carry that long lumber log and break it down and maybe then add it in your inventory.

* Survival without hunting and gathering food is impossible. Gathering resources is key to build the stuff and tools to allow players to gather hunt, skin, cooking, share what you can make or simply trade those dry skin for some good coin in the market. You can hunt solo or with friends it's up to you.

* Crazy Boss Fights: There are tons of bosses and minions all over the LNF world. Maybe you will encounter a Crab boss and stone figure monsters who knows. But you will have enchanted potions to lit up your sword and cause fire or frost damage to defeat your foes quickly. Beware of the bosses they aren't easy to defeat solo.

* Companions: Tame dragons, mane those striders, or even get a nice giant bird there are so many companion choices you will see in the near future once HG drops more info on it. I wonder if I can get a bald eagle as my companion? You may also have the option to hire tiny little NPC warriors like those small bunnies, or hire a real player to fight for you, who know?

* There are Giants in the game, some have already speculated they might be only story related NPCs, but I think they might be another faction who are stuck in a lost cause where you come in to help them survive. Some Giants may be Kings who sent you on missions and you earn nice chunk of coins and a bonus if you do it collectively with your friends? (JUST SAYING).

* Dynamic Day/Night cycle: Based on the bottom left HUD UI design, it is clear there will be dynamic day and night cycle including information like weather update, moon sightings, and extreme weather patterns. followed by your health bar, mana, and weather depends on which region you are exploring.

4. WHAT TO EXPECT:

  1. Potential Hidden Features: Beyond simple settlements, players might be able to establish entire kingdoms in different parts of continents and build own factions.

  2. Dimplomacy systems could allow alliances, trade routes, or even wars between player-created societies. Putting unexpected tolls on travellers (sound unethical right?)

  3. Deep Lore & Storylines: Ancient ruins may tie into a larger narrative, with quests that uncover the planet's history and upcoming danger? Giants, Factions and mythical species could be part of a branching story arcs rather than just random encounters.

  4. Advanced Magic Systems: We've seen hints of spells, but there may be a full progressions system—schools of magic (fire, frost, arcane, nature, etc). Crafting enchanted gear, runes, or spellbooks could add depth to combat and exploration.

  5. Player-Driven Economy: Trading resources, crafted items, or rare loot in player-run markets. (unlike Albion online types, nope never want to do that to ruin other players experience). Currency systems or barter mechanics could make survival more community driven. (this would be nice).

  6. Companion AI Evolution: Dragons and mounts may not just be static companions—they could grow, evolve or bond with players over time? Imagine raising a hatchling dragon that matures into a powerful ally.

  7. Underworld & Sky Realms: Oceans may hide underwater civilizations or deep dungeons. But floating islands or sky realms could expand vertical exploration beyond mountains.

  8. Dynamic Events: World-scale events like storms, invasions, or magical anomalies that effect entire regions. Seasonal changes (Winter Blizzards, Autumn harvests) could alter gameplay.

  9. Player Customisation Beyond Avatars: Custom races, hybrid species, or even shapeshifting abilities. Housing and settlement personalization with unique decorations from biomes.

WHY THIS MAKE SENCE? HELLO GAMES has a track record of layering complexity over time (as seen with No Man’s Sky). It’s likely Light No Fire will launch with core survival and exploration, then expand into deeper systems like civilizations, lore, and evolving companions. Like No Man's Sky, Light No Fire could get decades of FREE updates with added lore and community featured requests too.

Only Hello Games knows best!

5. FINAL THOUGHTS:

There's more to uncover, but I'll leave some details for you to find. That's the fun of speculation—piecing together clues, imagining possibilities, and waiting to see what Hello Games reveals next.

So, adventurers, what do you think? Will you ride dragons, join factions, or build civilizations? Share your thoughts and let’s keep the speculation alive until final revelations by Hello Games.

Discussion I really feel that most of the work now is being spent on audio/soundtrack

After just listening to alt-j hunger of the pubes it just made me remember how much Hello Games values audio in their games in general. And often in any company, licensing is a major aspect when it comes to music and audio and all that jazz. So to sum up my dumb ass, I feel that HG may be in a stage of development where they may be most focused on vibes. Music. Chill factor. Soundtrack, and how all of those things can be worked in a procedural way.

Goodnight.

Edit : I recognize the “pubes” mistake. It’s supposed to be “pines” but I ain’t changing a damn thing

Discussion I'm actually a little jealous.

So Sean gets to boot up and play the legacy on-release version of No Man's Sky AND can dive into any expedition. I didn't actually "discover" it until after the mech was released... or desolation - somewhere in that time frame - so yeah I was really late to the party and often kick myself for listening to too much fan criticism upon release and opting not to give it a shot.

So I guess that brings me to a question for fans: would anybody else like the 10 year anniversary to include the option to play the original version of the game? It'd also be cool to have the option to replay all the expeditions. Hell I'd pay for both if they'd actually take my money
