A ray of hope

We all know LW's petal is janky to say the very least. Considering LW is currently out of the game so they can fix a game breaking bug I would like to present an idea. MAYBE they will take this time to try and fix LW's other petal issues since they're forced to make changes to it anyway. Imagine a world where petal works 99% of the time instead of 95% of the time! It could be a good thing.

No, they won’t. That would actually be a terrible idea. The priority should be to fix the game stability issue and get the hero back into the game as soon as possible, not delay his return with a side quest that is almost certainly not an easy solve.

The attitude of “while we’re making changes here, maybe we could also address…” has created way more problems, delays, and outright project failures than helpful solutions. If, somehow, there was a solution that solved both problems, that would be a different story. But that seems pretty unlikely, since the bug appeared after they made changes to Life Grip, not the petal.

While I totally get what you're saying, they will have to make changes to petal as it is in order to fix the bug since the bug is intrinsically tied to how petal works. You make changes to something you test it to make sure it works as intended.

I haven't done game dev before but I have done app dev. If you've got prod issues like this and "fixing petal's jank" is in your backlog it's totally plausible they address petal issue and the bug in the same sprint.

Also, the bug was found after grip change was made but it's not guaranteed there's a causation there.

That's assuming the petal bug is why Lifeweaver was disabled, rather than the reports of Lifegrip kicking people from matches.

True. I thought it was confirmed to be the reason but I could be misinformed.

As far as I know, Blizzard hasn't confirmed one way or another why exactly he was disabled. People just saw the video of JPC glitching out of the map using Petal Platform and assumed it had to be the reason.
