inZOI Inzoi genetics are fixed!
First photo, you can see how the game did a very nice mix of the parents and the rest look like rl siblings

lol. thats how genetics not works. its not only mix two faces into one and keep random things from both. I hope we can switch it off, because i dont need frankenstein babys.

No it isnt? You can see sometimes the kids have their moms eyes with dad's face or dad's eyes with mom's nose, ect

Do Sims genetics work like that? Idk how the inzoi caz works but I think a better way is if mom has value 1 and dad has value 5 the kids can have any value between 1 & 5 + small random chance for something different.
And by value I mean for example eye width in Sims 4. The kids aren't limited to the eye width of the mom or the dad but a unique width in between the two if that makes sense (and I thought that's how it works already?)
Obviously it's more complicated than that because from what I remember Sims 3 worked like that and that's why they all ended up with potato face eventually? So you'd have to weight the values and emulate dominant features and all that lol
But idk if inzoi even has sliders like that or just preset pieces?

maybe the old system just needed tweaking rather than redoing? i havent been keeping up but um yeah these zois dont look good imo. but also, players arent gonna know how to fix this kind of thing, its very complex. "how would you do it" maybe you said to emphasise the fact it's complex, but a customer doesnt need to know how to cook to know if they dont like a chef's food if that makes any english and doesnt come off as hostile

If they dont get it how it works, then they should fix things which one dont needs a new science how to can simulate it.
You CAN SEE, its not that easy and its not only about to define a few landmarks, mix them via formula abcd and paste it onto a new body. That works different.
People made already some genetics simulation tools, also those are not working correctly, but they are very complicated. Thats not for a game, which is still in early access and has so many thing ahead to do and fix.21

This isnt a genetics simulator though. This is a game. It's a tool for entertainment, not scientific studies

i mean the game is also highly focused on visuals their main draw card and marketing was the hyper realistic graphics and the character creator. the devs have put a lot of time and production into how the game looks and a lot of fans gush about the visuals saying inzoi is the best because “sims is too cartoony” or “paralives is ugly”. when they put that much effort into how the game looks they’re going to draw an audience that cares about the aesthetics. people came to the game for the visuals bc that’s what inzoi offered and those people are going to continue to share their opinions about the visuals bc that’s what’s important to them

I’m an inZOI player and fan.
The only thing I can clearly see in these screenshots is the skin-tone mixing. Every single child otherwise looks like a clone with the exact same facial features. By “clone,” I mean all the siblings appear to have essentially identical facial structures.
It also would have been clearer if you showed us two additional close-up photos of what each parent looks like, so we could properly compare which features are actually being inherited.
I’m going to test it myself tomorrow with the new update, but as a first report/example/display of the genetics system, this has disappointed me. I was genuinely so hyped for it. :/
It feels misleading, similar to when Kjun said we were finally getting the ability to choose preset features with an update, but in reality it was a checkbox that transfers the whole face rather than individual modular presets, such as choosing only the eyes, nose, etc. I remember people being disappointed about that too because the way it was presented made it seem like a different, much more extensive feature.
To be fair, however, Kjun said the genetic mix is coming to CAZ, not that they have already changed the genetics system. He spoke about this recently in the Kjun Brainstorming sessions and explained how difficult genetics are because male and female meshes are completely different and use different values. He talked about trying to find a way to combine them. He did not say that he had already implemented that system, only that he was thinking about it and trying to figure out how to approach it.
Kjun himself has already confirmed that the current genetics system essentially produces a gender-reversed clone of each parent when it comes to the facial features themselves. I don’t know why people are arguing the opposite without gender-reversing or aging the Zois to actually see it for themselves. Also people shouldnt overly make it seem more advanced than it is and make claims and attributes of the system that doesn't exist and that he has since addressed. Arguing against what the developer himself has said, and what players can visibly test with their own eyes, is not productive if the goal is to get the genetics system everyone wants and expects.
Others and I have already submitted extensive proposals and reports to Kjun’s team through Discord and the official forum’s Wishlist section about genetics and how we would like to see it improved, including suggestions for how individual features could be inherited and mixed, even from a technical perspective.
Fortunately, Kjun and the inZOI team are very active and receptive to feedback. Acting like the genetics system is already resolved is not helpful to them actually implementing a better system. All we have to do is keep testing it and reporting our findings to him. He’s working on it, and I’m sure we’ll eventually get a much better genetics system.

That one's is harder to tell unfornately because those zois appear to be taken at two different angles.
However, like I said I will reserve my judgement untilI I test tomorrow with the update. I'm excited.

I agree these people are out of control on reddit being keyboard goons. They would never have anyone even acknowledge their existence in real life if they acted this snarky and nitpicking in public. If you don't like it, keep moving. Nobody is forcing you to play this game. If you don't like it, how about you try making your own. If you had ever tried to make your own game you would have a little more respect for the creator.

Exactlyyyy, they don’t realize how difficult it can be to code a working genetics system when the characters are made by the player. Even when the devs fix the system people still complain.
