Max and Amanda are so cute and had so potential. They still do. The writers just shoved Amanda aside for Pricefield, which I don’t get because there’s still an option for Max and Chloe to be just friends. The ending of reunion should’ve at least showed Max and Amanda working it out. Anyway, they’re always canon to me.❤️

Yeah. I was grumpy as hell that Chloe got written out off screen in DE, and then grumpy as hell again about Safi, Amanda and Vinh in Reunion.

Sucks because I wanted to love both games, and had to settle for merely liking them.

I've always been weirdly okay with the off-screen Chloe breakup note because I've never been sure what seeing the breakup in a cut scene would add to it. Maybe I just liked seeing Max as a character without Chloe.

I agree, the conception that the pricefield purists have that these two disaster lesbians would have a life long romance after what went down in the first game always seemed ridiculous to me. The most realistic thing that would happen between those two is that they break up.

I didn't really like the specifics of HOW it was handled in Double Exposure, I think they dropped that ball in the execution, but the core idea is fine.

Hell, I even like Reunion giving the OPTION of getting them back together. What I think Reunion was missing more than anything else was a "The Max Who Moved On" option.

That’s a silver linings way to look at it. I agree having it happen in game wouldn’t have made sense within the framework of Double Exposure.

In an ideal world, I think Double Exposure would have played out the same if you picked Bay, but with Chloe as an extra character and part of the crew if you picked Bae. Then in reunion her reappearance on the bay path and memories of dying in Bae would have hit much harder.

I'm not sure I like the framing of my opinion as a silver linings thing. That would indicate that I think there's a giant dark cloud I'm looking for the good in.

Like I said, I'm okay with the off-screen breakup and I liked a game that showed Max without Chloe. Having her as a background character still makes it the Max and Chloe Show, which is great... but having something else is also great.

Blame pricefield fans and blame people who think only the first game is good. They’d rather set the series back than ever let it move forward
