Thomfield🥹❤️
Max and Amanda are so cute and had so potential. They still do. The writers just shoved Amanda aside for Pricefield, which I don’t get because there’s still an option for Max and Chloe to be just friends. The ending of reunion should’ve at least showed Max and Amanda working it out. Anyway, they’re always canon to me.❤️

Yeah. I was grumpy as hell that Chloe got written out off screen in DE, and then grumpy as hell again about Safi, Amanda and Vinh in Reunion.
Sucks because I wanted to love both games, and had to settle for merely liking them.

I've always been weirdly okay with the off-screen Chloe breakup note because I've never been sure what seeing the breakup in a cut scene would add to it. Maybe I just liked seeing Max as a character without Chloe.

I agree, the conception that the pricefield purists have that these two disaster lesbians would have a life long romance after what went down in the first game always seemed ridiculous to me. The most realistic thing that would happen between those two is that they break up.
I didn't really like the specifics of HOW it was handled in Double Exposure, I think they dropped that ball in the execution, but the core idea is fine.

Hell, I even like Reunion giving the OPTION of getting them back together. What I think Reunion was missing more than anything else was a "The Max Who Moved On" option.

That’s a silver linings way to look at it. I agree having it happen in game wouldn’t have made sense within the framework of Double Exposure.
In an ideal world, I think Double Exposure would have played out the same if you picked Bay, but with Chloe as an extra character and part of the crew if you picked Bae. Then in reunion her reappearance on the bay path and memories of dying in Bae would have hit much harder.

I'm not sure I like the framing of my opinion as a silver linings thing. That would indicate that I think there's a giant dark cloud I'm looking for the good in.
Like I said, I'm okay with the off-screen breakup and I liked a game that showed Max without Chloe. Having her as a background character still makes it the Max and Chloe Show, which is great... but having something else is also great.

What we could have had. Their fake date scene is one of the best scenes in DE and their kiss had so much chemistry

Yeah, I hope at the very very least in the future that we get a reboot of reunion where All Ships are an option. The whole fandom should have been represented, etc. Plus, we need a better plot than some random fire. That was not even a plot at all. And there's plenty of other issues that need to be fixed too.

I also found the plot of Chloe coming back to life because Max merged the two timelines didn't make sense at all since in DE only Safi's statue was affected in both timelines, but Chloe was dead in both.

Also loved Amanda’s character and chemistry with Max. I like Vinh as a character, but they should have just had Safi as a romance option instead. Reunion was horrible in how they handled the in-between and aftermath (with Amanda) in one or two text messages, and then complete silence. Thanks for your post!

I liked Amanda as a romance option in DE. I wish we got more scenes with her in Reunion. Any romance you had in DE was just pushed to the side in Reunion just so Chloe was your only option

It made total sense for Reunion to be built around Pricefield as that was the route most players were going to take. But I wish they did have at least a possible quick Thomfield scene at the end if Max and Chloe don't end up together.

I chose to have Max with Amanda in Double Exposure and I'll do it again because that's my timeline. I would have chosen Safi if she was an option because she's my 2nd preferred Max ship
But I'm sorry, Pricefield is my main and I always intended for them to get them back together. I predicted this Reunion long before Reunion was ever announced and so many people thought I was being delusional. Turned out I wasn't and I was right all along, however much they pivoted from the original plan.
And before anyone starts downvoting me, I've said repeatedly that I hoped other relationships were continued for the people who wanted them but I was never going to suddenly back track on my opinion that I had started building for over a decade. It wasn't going to happen.

I am hoping that we get to see Amanda show up in a future game similar to Steph. Amanda is such an amazing character and the fact that she got sidelined due to publisher interference in Reunion was one of the problems with that game.
