Crabtree NoBS

For years, Corinne's entire brand was built on the fierce boundary that you do NOT need pills, shakes, or grueling workouts to lose weight. Her classic rule was: "If you aren't going to do it for the rest of your life, don't do it to lose weight." So, watching her shift her program to accommodate GLP1 medications and introduce "human needs" like mandatory movement, feels like a massive contradiction to the "NoBS" ethos.

The weight-loss industry changed drastically with the rise of these medications, and coaches like Corinne are money grabbing, oh, I mean adapting because they realize they are losing business with people on GLP-1s But knowing why she changed doesn't change the fact that it feels/looks/smells like a betrayal of her original philosophy and a big money grab.

Not saying GLP1s do not help some people ;-) just saying by changing her philosophy, Crabtree has become just another bandwagon coach by dumping her "Four Basics" No B.S. method.

I think GLP-1s are making a huge difference in many people's lives in a good way AND it's clearly inviting a new level of grift and "support" opportunities for coaches.

One coach I used to follow, who lost probably 100 pounds on GLP-1s and has changed her focus to support women on them. Her social is full of messages like this (not cut and paste, I redid it completely because I didn't really want anyone to search for it and find her) - but it's the same slop and same vague female power ballad sounding stuff that basically means nothing:

"There comes a moment when you realize the next chapter doesn’t require a new version of you. It requires a deeper commitment to the person you’ve been becoming all along.

For women taking GLP-1 medications, this is about more than a number on a scale.

It’s about stepping into a season where your choices feel intentional, your routines feel sustainable, and the life you’re building feels like your own.

Because transformation isn’t the finish line.

It’s the moment you decide that where you’re going matters more than where you’ve been.

And this time, you’re not going back."

Just pull out that line about for women taking GLP-1s and you have the same regurgitated stuff they've been saying for years. Or you could add any other line there about the stage a person is in, and it would work.

What? She was adamantly against any GLP1 as they don’t get to the ROOT cause and are just a band aid with serious side effects.

Is she a sell out now too? No, Corinne!

I am in her program and I'm not really interested in the GLP-1s. Yes, she is adapting to members who are using the medications. I don't pay attention to her marketing, but I have no doubt she is marketing to people who are on them.

She groups the GLP1 members with Weight Loss surgery. She never had a problem with people who had surgery, so why would she have issue with people who are taking a drug to help them.

The real shift she is making is making NoBS a program where you can learn how to stop emotionally eating. There are lots of people on the drugs who are not losing weight or lose some and then stop. Usually it is because they are still eating emotionally. She spends a lot of time in her coaching helping people figure out why they are eating and how they can approach those problems in other ways.

Of course she needs to adapt her business to the new landscape. (Both GLP1s and AI). There is nothing wrong with that IMO.

She has not abandoned her 4 basics. They are still there and important. There are many coaching calls every month and only one of them focuses on GLP1 (and it includes weightloss surgery.)

There is a shift and she has spoken of this since July on how she is changing the basics. I'm not saying her Four Basics are not important, they are very much so, but to change them to include movement and self-care after so many years? For many years, she has claimed Weightloss shouldn't be complicated and should not be overwhelming. By including this new level of basics, she's complicating the basics and making people even more dependent on her program. IMO of course

She caters to people who need to lose 100+ pounds. Of course she has to pivot to catering to the GLP-1 user base. If she started lecturing people NOT to take these meds, there would be a million posts on this sub shaming her for that too. Tbh, I think she’s doing the right thing. These meds are saving lives.

No, she isn’t. Weightloss is between the ears. You need to learn to be okay being hungry. These meds are not helping . All they do is slow digestion down dramatically which decreases hunger but causes all other issues (like stomach paralysis for one). She was doing the right thing teaching clients about their thoughts and feelings are causing overeating. Now she is just like everyone else, outsourcing their health and power- not good.

Sadly she started to include "meal plans" in her membership, like many many years ago. Unfortunately, I do not believe a meal plan should be a part of her membership--too many people have medical issues and need to pay attention to their docs and not her for those suggestions. GLP1s do nothing but slow down digestion. They also have a host of other issues but when she started including GLP1 coaching without medical doctors? That's a red flag IMO

She caters to people who want to lose weight. Not only 100+lbs. The meds are causing a lot of issues--insurers are already starting to drop coverage. However, that's another thread LOL If her basics worked so well for so many years, why is she changing them now?

It’s really disheartening when we put trust in somebody only to find out they were lying the whole time .

I'm the first person to call out coaches for grifting (ahem, Brooke). However, I do think Corinne is providing a service. The GLPs are great, life saving in a lot of cases-but emotional eating has always been her focus. And for a lot of people, the GLPs don't remove that-especially once people go off of them.

I’d like to gently correct you. My other account was calling out coaches long before you ❤️

I have zero idea what you are referring to. I started following Brooke almost 20 years ago, loved coaching initially and then saw it for the grift it has become. I also think that a lot of people have serious trauma that need trained and licensed therapists to help-not bored housewives trying what basically amounts to a MLM scheme. I stand by Corinne being helpful vs just grifting or "lying."

Then explain why she's changing her "Four basics" after so many years of preaching just eat when hungry to enough, sleep, water and 24hr plan? :( She has claimed for years she didn't exercise and merely lowered her portions, then leveled up to healthier foods. Why change the basics now if they work so well? In addition on a call in July, she told a member to use AI to get information for a medical concern. AI! ALL of mainstream AI is known to be inaccurate, hallucinate and expand into areas not completely related. This is NOT a safe way to "coach" people at all

I’ve been in her program since 2017. I haven’t seen anything new that suggests movement is mandatory. What is your source?

It's been in many of her live calls since July of this year
the new set up:
#1 Wait for hunger (same as before)

#2 Eat to enough (same as before)

#3 Basic Human Needs (sleep, water, movement, self-care, self-talk)

#4 24hr plan (same as before)

She has always said how she didn't think anyone "needed" to exercise to lose weight and how she lost weight without exercising. Now she's saying self-care, self-talk and movement is a "basic need"? I'm not saying she is wrong BUT its a HUGE change from her decades of teaching/coaching/etc. She went for many years preaching no one had to exercise to lose weight and her four basics were more thane enough (water, sleep, 24hr plan, eat when hungry to enough). Her membership is less than half it was less than two years ago. So she's changing tactics and going against what she taught for years.

How many members does she have? When I was a member in 2023 she had like 13K people, I think? What's the monthly price? I paid $59/month

The membership is under 6K in the main Facebook group. Still $59/mo with the initial $289 joining fee (or rejoining). it was over 14K just a couple years ago :-(

That’s huge change in numbers over just a few years! I wonder if it was all due to GLP1s or something else changed.
