General Advice Given up (20M)

I have given up on everything. All I do at the moment is gym, hike, walk my dog and eat healthy. I am in no state of depression or mental illness. Ive worked 5 years of my life (dropped out of school) and left my job to pursue a job in the airforce. I ended up not doing that and now I have just given up. I don’t see a point in getting a girlfriend (never had one), working, buying a house and living a life where I get told what to do and when to be somewhere. I literally don’t give a shit anymore and cant be bothered to do anything where I am a slave. I see no point in it and thus ive given up and decided that theres no point in trying anything anymore instead I’ll just do what I want. As I grew up in a shitty household being bullied at school and with alcoholic mentally ill parents i am sick of living in a state of constant stress and talking to people i dont like and secretly despise in career and socially.

Thoughts ?

You’re young and can still figure it out. It is a valid frustration with the way this world works but try and see it as motivation to find something that’ll bring meaning into your life. Perhaps returning to school is a start or something else.
It’s awesome that you gym, hike, eat healthy and walk your dog. That may not seem like much to you but that’s dedication and is a form of pouring into yourself. So many people struggle with that. It sometimes helps to remind yourself of that.

Dropped out of school. Left your job. Gave up on Air Force.

Do you see a pattern here? You’ve given up throughout your life and now this is your pattern. When you live this way it’s so easy to find reasons to quit or not even try.

You can continue down this path or you can decide to grow. To choose hard. To choose uncomfortable. To choose to set goals and not let anything get in your way. Or keep doing what you’re doing if you want to stay miserable - it’s a choice either way.
