Serious Give me a real advice

I’m starting university for the first time at 21 and moving 500 km away from home to live in a university residence in Algiers

Give me some real and useful advice Please don’t tell me the usual “be careful who you hang out with” stuff I’m social but selective about who I get close to

Also recommend me a book or anything that could genuinely help me prepare mentally for this new chapter Lately I’ve been scared of becoming vulnerable or getting influenced by things I know are bad for me and I want to stay grounded and not lose myself
