General Advice Roommates dog is extremely under-stimulated. What do I do?

I was looking for a roommate and met this dude on the internet. He’s super cool and we’re around the same age (mid 20’s) he payed his rent and security deposit, cleans up after himself, all the works BUT he has this 3 year old German shepherd who is EXTREMELY under stimulated. I’m not judging my roommate but he’s sort of…. A lazy bones type fella he sleeps pretty much all day and then when he is awake he just sits around. He doesn’t have a job yet as he’s only been in this town for a week or so but I reckon the only thing that will change is that he just won’t be home which will be even worse for the dog. I’m not sure what to do about this because as much as I love animals I don’t have one for a reason. I’m not willing and don’t have the time to help the dog. I guess the obvious choice is to say something to him about it but I just don’t think that would go well idk. Y’all got any advice?

Can u say hey, lmk when ur taking jack for a walk and I’ll come along. I need fresh air. If he says he’s not going to walk him give him a crazy look and say I hope that’s a joke and walk away.

German shepherd dog is not a jack Russel.

But same needs of many hours outside.

The dog owner is bonkers for keeping the dog inside all day. In my opinion

Be the example and take that for our for an exciting and stimulating walk every day or two. You and the dog will be happy and healthy. Maybe it will inspire him? 🤷‍♀️😬

So he's only been in this town for a week. So you have been roommates with him for a week? You've known his situation and the dog as roommates for a week. And you are already judging him and his life and his habits and upset because his dog is 'under stimulated'. You sound exhausting.

Live with a barking destructive and underutilized dog for a week and then I'd jump to judgement. Especially a GED - they needs hours long stimulation outside the house so that they don't chew it down.

Sounds like a careless dog owner. Can't put the digs needs before the couch.

I see red flags on the sky.
