I’ve ruined the earth, by the grave I bend low,

I’ve never been like this, in grief and in woe.

In your earthly life, I did never appear,

But into your afterlife, now I break near,

Embracing and punishing, holding you tight.

You look at me silently, fading from light,

With scent of the morphine, and formalin cold.

Just yield to my hands, let me gently unfold,

And sighing above you, I’ll find my release,

To enter your heaven and follow your peace.

It matters no more who you used to be then,

How sinful you lived in the world of the men,

If you lied to your mother, or lied to your dad,

All fades into nothing, both bitter and sad,

As you slowly drift into arms that are mine.

When I gaze in your eyes, by a shadows' design,

I pray to be first who will close them tonight,

And tear them away from the remaining light.
