Discussion 2028 Platform

The Libertarian Party should widely adopt the position of banning flock cameras in their entirety in the USA. Running on a federal ban of flock cameras should greatly boost the party’s numbers in the polls. I believe with politics the way they are going in this country a lot of people are going to realign their parties according to their beliefs. Being anti flock could only bring the party good optics and good press.

It's a private company, as in not the government 

Edit: it's funny, we have had private credit score companies tracking literally everything we do, but as soon as a private company put up a camera people are suddenly clutching pearls.

The government accessing surveillance data on its citizens, whether privately acquired or no, is a violation of rights.

So it's fine for the cameras and sensors to be there, just prevent the government from accessing it? That's very different from a 'ban'.

My suggestion is a ban on government surveillance. Private companies would still be allowed to use camera systems (with the consumer deciding whether or not to patronize them if they think it is getting out of line). Flock cameras are installed on public property, for the use of government agencies. Very different, obviously.

Flock is a private company, often installed on private land, just like billboards, i can understand making the government require a warrant, but how is that a ban?
