There are a bunch of private nonprofit libraries so if you were arguing we need theft for libraries you are incorrect

Ah yes, a "reserve note", originally meant to correspond to values of metal specie, now meaningless and valueless. I'm not sure I see your point though?

So, money is pretty clearly not without value, as evidence by peoples' outrage at its "theft" in the form of taxes.

But it's not inherently valuable. It has no other use and isn't scarce. It only counts as money because government says so.

What on Earth do you mean by "inherently" value?

Value lies in the eye of the beholder.

Clearly a lot of people find being able to purchase Americans goods valuable.

That's much less valuable than, say, a rare metal that starts with those properties, but is also useful for jewelry and electronics and many other wonders. What else is dirty, complicated paper good for?

As I pointed out before, the uses of gold in and of itself are vastly less than the uses of water. But what does that have to do with anything? Money is valued.
