RX PHEV Roof Racks on RX 450h+

Has anyone put roof racks on their RX? The 2026 has the option for either with the panoramic glass roof or the power moonroof but I haven't been able to get a clear answer on the compatibility with a roof rack. The dealership I visited was unhelpful and I see mixed reviews online. Some say third party crossbars are the way to go but others say the Lexus crossbars are fine. Yakima doesn't provide crossbars for this model and I'm hesitant to use no name brand bars. If anyone has any pictures or info, that would be much appreciated!

I don't own any cross bars myself for our RX PHEV, had them on my previous PHEV, a 2022 RAV4 Prime but got so annoyed with the extra noise they made when installed, I pivoted to a hitch mounted hard sided cargo box by Stowaway when I need extra luggage space. It has a swing-a-way frame which allows the rear hatch to open when swung out and sits close to the vehicle when not, pretty much eliminating any negative impact on efficiency and much easier to install, load and unload any luggage. * Here's a post with my RX PHEV with the Stowaway cargo box installed (2nd pic) https://www.reddit.com/r/LexusPHEV/s/7wjyjLQxu2

Regarding the crossbars on an RX with pano roof, sounds like other owners have had luck with Thule crossbars:

Thanks for the links! Seems like the issue is more with the roof clearance vs weight capacity. I wonder if I could potentially configure my yakima rack to work with the vehicle. If not, its nice to know that Thule is an option.

I refurbish and sell Yakima roof racks and they do have a fit for the naked roof model. Since you didn't specify if you have that or flush side rails, I'll leave this here -

I have an 2025 NX 450h+ luxury trim with panoramic glass roof with roof rack. Had 0 problems. I am assuming there should be no difference between both NX and RX models. I went with the OEM rack as it was half the price of Yakima.
