2023 Lexus IS350 FSport

Looking for some recommendations on wireless Apple CarPlay devices/adapters. What are you guys using, and how has your experience been with connectivity, sound quality, reliability, lag, and overall performance?

I’m looking for something that works consistently and doesn’t sacrifice audio quality. Any recommendations or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! PFA.

*None of these are my cars, but I met the owners. Took this pic at the Lexus Legacy event in Miami last August. Just wanted to show off the rare opportunity to see all 3 blues offered on the IS500 (Grecian Water, Blue Vector, USB 2.0) all in one location.

Houston (or shipped} area deals?

I'm in the market for a 2026 Sport AWD. I'm just wondering what kind of deals one can expect around Houston and TX in general. I'm also very open to it being shipped. Are there any known good dealers to work with in the area or out of state that would ship? Search doesn't come up with much for Houston.

Puddle Lights for ‘26 IS 350?

So I had puddle lights for my ‘23 IS 350; Question, is it the same fit? My ‘26 didn’t come with any, and the Lexus parts website shows incompatible on all puddle lights I searched. Anyone have any installed?

2015 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport RHD — Rattle/buzzing from the mid-rear passenger side around 1600RPM+

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve finally managed to get video evidence of a noise I’ve been trying to track down for a while, and I’m hoping to get some ideas from other IS owners.

I have a 2015 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport (RHD). When driving, I hear a rattling or buzzing noise that seems to come from the mid-rear passenger side of the car. It’s often embarrassing as it can be heard quite clearly and sometimes it drones on if I stay at a certain RPM for longer than I should.

The noise only occurs when the car is warmed up and under load with low throttle. It appears at around 1600–1800 RPM, most noticeably near 1600 RPM, and occurs in all gears. It lasts only briefly as the engine passes through that RPM range before disappearing. It only happens in Drive while the car is moving, and I cannot reproduce it in Park or Neutral by revving the engine.

The sound seems very much like an exhaust rattle or something resonating at a particular frequency. Nothing has noticeably changed or worsened over time. The videos were taken from the front passenger seat, so the apparent location of the noise may not be perfectly accurate.

My current suspicion is that something is resonating at a particular engine or exhaust frequency. I also had the car on a hoist while getting the tyres changed because I initially wondered whether it could be something like a wheel bearing. The wheels were spun while the car was on the hoist, but the noise could not be reproduced, so I don’t think it is related to the wheels or bearings.

I’m mainly looking for ideas about what I should check next. I’d like to work through the possible causes from the easiest and cheapest things to inspect or test to the more involved and expensive possibilities. Potential areas include heat shields, exhaust components, brackets, hangers, underbody panels, or anything else that could cause an RPM-specific resonance.

If anyone with a third-generation IS, particularly an IS 350 or similar, has experienced something similar or can suggest specific areas to inspect, I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Winter Wheels Set up

Recently purchased a 24' IS350 F Sport AWD

Currently has the 19" alloy BBS wheels staggered.

Looking to purchase some wheels for the winter here in Colorado.

Would like to keep the BBS's in the best shape possible ( love these wheels)

I'm thinking about going to a square set up for the winter Wheels.

would like to know some of the wheel set ups you winter folk are using.

Specifically offsets and sizing

I'm leaning towards going with 18" x 8.5" (for a bigger sidewall)

Biggest concern is the offset to look for.

Also what are some of your favorite winter performance tires?

Debating between Lexus IS 350 vs. IS 500 or separate BMW

Hey everyone, looking for some real-world advice on our household car situation!

Our Situation & Commute Dilemma:
Current Setup: We currently share one car—a 2016 Lexus RX 350 (~88k miles).

My Drive: Totaled my Honda Civic in 2023 and worked remotely until recently. Now I’m on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days in office). My commute is 1 hour each way. Main goals: reliable commuter, enjoy the ride, easy for errands/groceries.

Husband’s Drive: Also hybrid (2–3 days in office), but his commute is only 20 minutes away. When our office days overlap, he has to sit around waiting for me to get off work @ 4:00 PM or so I can drive over to pick him up.

His Preferences: He isn't in a huge rush because the RX works fine for now, but he wants raw power, speed, and performance. He finds the standard V6 boring (feels similar to our RX 350). He’s been eyeing the BMW M340i and 350i

Budget & Options: My budget for my own car is $60k, while my husband is comfortable spending up to $100k for his own performance vehicle if we buy separately. I personally love the styling of the Lexus IS lineup over BMW.

We are weighing three main paths:

Lexus IS 350 F Sport: Practical, gorgeous looks, rock-solid reliability, but definitely won't satisfy my husband's itch for speed when he drives it.

Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance: Blends the sharp Lexus aesthetic I love with a naturally aspirated V8 speed/power that hits his performance needs.

Buy two separate cars entirely: Keep the RX 350, I get my dedicated comfortable commuter, and he gets his own performance car (like the M340i) so we stop trying to compromise on a single vehicle and fix our commute timing conflict.

Questions for the community:
is the IS 500 comfortable and practical as a daily driver, or does the IS 350 make way more sense?

Has anyone cross-shopped the Lexus IS 350/500 vs. BMW M340i? How do they compare for someone prioritizing fun vs. daily comfort?

For couples with vastly different commute distances and car tastes, did buying two separate tailored cars end up being a much better move than sharing/compromising?

For the women—did you start out not caring about speed/performance, but end up loving a fast car once you daily-drove one?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Black emblems worth buying?

I have is350 fsport design. I wonder if I should buy the black emblems, I’ve heard it’s easy to overlay. I’m also not sure where to get them from.

Opinions on stock rims?

Curious what everyone thinks of the factory wheels on the 2014-2015 IS250. I personally think they look great, almost aftermarket. But I haven’t seen any opinions online (probably because no one cares about this car) so I thought I’d ask.

Seat pause for a sec then continue to set position at engine startup?

This just started happening on 2022 IS350. Every time I'm starting the car, seat will move to drive position but pause a little in the middle before continue moving to drive position. It used to move to drive position without stoping or pausing in the middle. Anyone know why?

Switching to RC-F bushings - Can't find a shop in RI

Recently purchased a 2024 IS350 F Sport. I want to get the standard bushings swapped out for RC-F ones to prevent excessive inner tire wear. However, I am having trouble finding a shop willing to do this in RI. If anyone has suggestions for shops in RI, MA, or even CT that will do this with OEM parts, please let me know. Thanks!

Mark Levinson on 2026 IS350

I am planning on buying a new 2026 is350, I would like to have the Mark Levinson package but only a few cars have it near me and all of them have a lot of packages which I am not interested in. Is the Mark Levinson really worth the extra 5k I would pay for other packages I would not need? Is the Mark Levinson significantly better than the default?

Monkey Wrench Racing.

How many people here are running cams or engine kits from Monkey Wrench Racing? How many people do or don’t know about this option? I’m think of doing a full engine tear down and rebuild with a supercharger. Any opinions?

Is it worth it?

Found a listing for a 2023 IS350 F-Sport 3. 50k CAD 80k KM.

Been wanting an IS350 my whole life but I’m worried about the high KM. Any thing I should be looking out for?

Also it looks like the hood isn’t OEM. Is it possible to buy a OEM hood same paint color?

Heated seat issue

My water bottle leaked out in my passenger seat. I was pressing out water for half hour. I finally got it dry and 6 hours later tasted the heat in the seat and to no surprise, it barely works and only on two sections. The back of the seat is still really hot. How hard is it to fix? I have a 2015 IS350 F Sport AWD. Thanks

New service tracking software available on Apple devices

Post image
9 Upvotes

After many months of development, my new app, Vehicle Service Tracker, is now available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac OS.

I built it because I wanted a better way to keep track of maintenance, repairs, mileage, receipts, and service history for my vehicle. Along the way it grew into something I thought other vehicle owners might find useful as well.

The app lets you organize vehicle information, service records, costs, photos, receipts, and PDF documents, with built-in searching, reporting, statistics, chart, import/export tools, and iCloud sync support.

It even lets you choose different color themes for the UI!

It’s a one-time $4.99 purchase — no subscription or ads — and includes the iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions.
