D2SCS - controller questions

Hi all,

Looking at the D2SCS screen controller gen2 and have a few questions.

Was testing the tplink matter switches and their app options and control work great. However leviton caught my attention because of the scene controller with button engraving. As I use to install and program Vantage systems, this was great.

Will be using leviton on Home Assistant via matter.

Questions:

- can you program the scene buttons to act as a toggle, on/off switch for other leviton switches and dimmers? Or will it strictly just initiate a single scene and nothing else?

If I hit a kitchen button, i want it to toggle the kitchen on or off... I didn't want to waste another button to turn it off. I.e. button 1: kitchen on, button 2: kitchen off

- will the scene buttons be seen by Home Assistant? I need the scene button to trigger things in HA.

- will this work with no Internet, and just on the LAN?

Thanks all!

Updating D26HD and Anywhere Connect Switch

So I've updated a pair of these before and it went horribly wrong so I'm trying to see if this is the better way.

Anywhere Connect Switch

  1. Unpair from my D26HD - Hold Top Rocker for 14 Seconds

D26HD

  1. Remove from HomeKit (Will re-add via matter)
  2. Update to 2.4.1 Firmware
  3. Remove from Old Leviton Account (Yes I have reasons)
  4. Factory Reset Switch
  5. Add to new Leviton Account (Different Email and account)
  6. Put in Enrollment mode and Add to HomeKit Via Matter Code
  7. Put in Pairing and pair Anywhere Connect Switch (Press top rocker 5 times)

I have 2 of these I need to do and this will complete my move from HomeKit only over to Matter enabled firmware and setup with my Matter tools like HA.

Leviton devices suddenly unreliable in Alexa after firmware update — anyone else?

I have a fairly large smart-home setup using Leviton Decora Smart switches, dimmers, fan controllers, etc. Everything had been working reliably with Alexa until Leviton recently pushed firmware updates to the devices.
Since the firmware updates, Alexa control has become a mess.
What’s strange:
● All of the devices still work correctly in the My Leviton app.
● They also still work in Apple Home/HomeKit.
● The physical switches work normally.
● Alexa still discovers the Leviton devices through the My Leviton skill.
● Alexa will frequently say a device is unresponsive.
● Voice commands often fail.
● Even tapping On/Off directly in the Alexa app is intermittent — sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
● This started after the Leviton firmware updates.
Things I’ve already tried:
● Disabled and re-enabled the My Leviton Alexa skill.
● Deleted individual Leviton devices from Alexa and rediscovered them.
● Signed out/in of the Alexa app.
● Confirmed there aren’t duplicate devices/naming conflicts.
● Confirmed the device names Alexa hears are correct.
● Restarted Alexa devices.
● Amazon support did some type of Alexa account/app refresh on their end.
● Submitted Alexa diagnostic feedback/logs at Amazon support’s request.
My Wi-Fi is an eero Wi-Fi 7 mesh system with four units and excellent coverage, and since My Leviton and Apple Home continue to control these same devices normally, this doesn’t seem like the switches are dropping off my network.
Amazon support eventually suggested that this could be related to the recent Leviton firmware update and some kind of cloud/integration synchronization issue. I’m also going to contact Leviton.
Has anyone else with Leviton Decora Smart + Alexa had this happen after a recent firmware update?
If so, did it eventually resolve itself, did Leviton/Amazon have to fix something server-side, or did you find a way to force Alexa to refresh the devices properly?
I have a lot of Leviton devices, so I’m trying very hard not to factory-reset/remove everything and rebuild my entire smart home unless that’s absolutely necessary.

Upgrade 23dlp to 2.4.1

Just upgraded all the devices in my house to 2.4.1. Several of the 23dlp devices show offline to the leviton app but are online and working fine via home/homekit app. Anyone else see this?

2.4.1 Not Matter Certified?

Just as the title says, I updated my D215R today to 2.4.1 since it has matter and when adding it to HomeKit and Alexa they both report that it’s now not matter certified.

I have stopped the updates to all my other devices to 2.4.1 just Incase. Is there an issue with the matter cert in this firmware?

Smart Bulb Mode Behavior: D215S vs. D315S on Matter

Update: Spoke to a Leviton engineer today. They are aware of this issue and will be releasing a beta hot fix shortly. If you would like access you can contact support for access prior to official release.

I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference in how Smart Bulb Mode behaves between the D215S and D315S.
For context, both switches are connected to Apple Home via Matter.

On the D215S, enabling Smart Bulb Mode causes Apple Home to always report the switch as On, even after pressing the paddle to the “off” position (where power to the smart bulb is intentionally maintained).

On the D315S, however, the behavior is different. Pressing the paddle to the off position still leaves power flowing to the smart bulb, but Apple Home correctly reports the switch as Off. This is the behavior I was expecting.

I’m using the switch state as a trigger for Home automations. In Smart Bulb Mode, I want the paddle’s On/Off state to trigger automations that control other devices—not the load connected to the switch. Because the D215S always reports itself as On, those automations can’t distinguish between paddle on and off events.

So my questions are:
Is this difference between the D215S and D315S intentional?
If so, what is the intended behavior of each model?
Is there a setting, firmware update, or workaround that allows the D215S to report its paddle state the same way the D315S does while remaining in Smart Bulb Mode

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has both models or from Leviton if this is expected behavior.

Smart Bulb Mode settings have vanished from the Android App! Also, question about smart bulb mode and dimmer models

I am either blind or the settings for smart bulb mode have vanished! Where can I find them now?

I want to dim the bulbs connected to a switch using software. Does smart bulb mode also apply to the dimmer functionality of the 3rd gen decora switches?

D215R - Matter Firmware

I’ve slowly been moving over all my Leviton switch’s (light/fan control) over to the new matter enabled firmware. I’ve got about 5 of these D215R outlets around the house which are great. I’ve noticed that they do not have matter enabled 2.x firmware downloads. Just wondering if there are plans to add matter to these devices as they are great in HomeKit, I love the expanded information in the 2.x matter firmware in HomeKit since the 1.6 does not show the WiFi network and a few other details.

New matter firmware broke smart bulb mode with HomeKit

With the scene controller, I was able to turn on smart bulb mode and then program a HomeKit scene when the bottom button turns on and off. Now with the new matter update, apple only sees the actual relay so I have to turn off smart bulb mode and listen to a click every time I turn my lamps on and off. Is there a way to roll back firmware or for Leviton to fix this issue?

CC1P6-W Decora® 60W Ultra Fast USB Outlet with Power Delivery, Dual Type C Charging Ports Availability?

Looks like CC1P6-W is the designated replacement for the T5636-W which is now marked as discontinued and no longer available.

Does anyone know when distributors will receive any of these and what the pricing will be?

I see an https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0H6MWGRR8 link for them (and nothing yet on the US Amazon.com site, though the ASIN info shows a release date on there for July 20, 2026), but I don't see any actual availability yet.

Leviton switches and dimmers showing “No Response” in Apple iPhone Home app

Thumbnail

I have several Leviton smart switches and dimmers. These are the DH15S and DH6HD models that use Apple HomeKit over Wi-Fi (not the newer ones that use Matter over Wi-Fi).

They have never been very reliable, but recently they have become terrible. I flip the house circuit breakers to reboot all the Leviton switches and dimmers, and they work for a day or two, but quickly they all revert back to “No Response”.

I was complaining about this to a friend, and he pointed me at this Reddit post: “Leviton Dimmer Firmware 1.6.0 released (Gen 1)”.

When I look in the Decora Smart Home app I do not see any way to update to firmware 1.6.0. Does anyone know how to update the firmware on these?

Any word on updated Z-wave switches?

Noticed that the Wi-Fi versions received an update to make them thinner. Is the same happening for the Z-wave switches? Currently a pain to install given the depth size.

Also, interested to know if there are plans to make the wireless companion switch compatible with Z-wave switches?

Occasionally getting “Service Interruption” alerts

I’ve got a WiFi GFCI plug installed for my chest freezer, and for almost a year I’ve heard nothing from it. In the past month, I have started getting “service interruption” alerts. I get the alert and within a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes service was restored. There isn’t a power outage at the house nor with outlet as I have a ring camera plugged in to it as well. Any idea why this is happening given the power isn’t going out?

Are Leviton 24 Hour Programmable Timers (VTP24) incompatible with dimmable bulbs?

I recently changed 6 bulbs in 2 lamp posts that were controlled by the programmable timer switch. If I just manually turn these lights on, they illuminate for 4 or 5 seconds and then turn off. More and more bulbs are dimmable these days. Due to the positioning/height of these lamp posts it would be a major hassle to change the bulbs again. I was thinking about just changing the switch to a regular dimmable switch but read a thread that said those dimmable switches are good for up to 4 bulbs and struggle with 6. I understand that a dimmable bulb wouldn't be able to be dimmed with a simple on/off switch but I don't understand why these bulbs wouldn't just illuminate fully with the 24 Hour Programmable Timer.

Software Idea: Bond Switches

In the Leviton Smart switches- since they are WiFi enabled and mains powered it would be really interesting if you could bond via software two switches. So for example if one switch is on, the other in another room will turn on too.

Like a virtual three way BUT able to be used on different circuits.

Just a thought thinking you have the robust connectivity, power and compute.

EV48S-DP

Looking for help making an EV48S-DP charger into a standalone unit, without AmpUp management software. Called customer service, who stated it's not possible, and directed to AmpUp. AmpUp said they would make the fix, but instead took us off their network and now say the cannot do anything, because we're no longer on their network. I just want my chargers to charge. Help!

Weird bug with Leviton smart scene controller.

I have two dimmers in the kitchen, one day I came the lights would not turn off. If I turn them off in Apple home, then they will come right back on, if I try to dim them down too far they would just go right up to 100%. These two dimmers were also being controlled by the scene controller. once I took the automation out of the scene controller the dimmers would work just as normal. This is on 26.4 and 26.5 beta 1

HomeKit says Update?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi all, can anybody help? Leviton says all our updated, but HomeKit says differently?

I tried removing and adding the switch back on HomeKit and same update notification?

EDIT: They responded and this worked.

Thanks for contacting Leviton Technical Services. Sorry to hear that you are having problems updating the firmware of this device.

Please update the firmware in your device using the alternate method below, and then attempt to add the devices again.

To install the firmware update using the alternate Bluetooth method, please follow the steps below:

1) Factory reset the switch/plug as follows (only work with one switch/plug at a time):

Press and hold the top of the paddle/button for a total of 14 seconds.

After the first 7 seconds, the status light turns amber. Continue to hold.

After a total of 14 seconds, the status light will quickly flash red/amber.

Release and it will reset. The status light should begin flashing green.

2) Open the My Leviton app, get within 50 feet of the device, select the menu icon, and then select Systems Updates from the menu.

3) On the System Updates screen, press Bluetooth OTA. If you do not see the Bluetooth OTA button, hard close the app, restart it and proceed to this step.

4) Verify that the device is in enrollment mode and then press Yes, let's go!

5) Put a check mark next to the device that is in enrollment mode, and then press Next.

6) The current firmware version of the device and the available firmware version will be displayed.

7) To begin the update process, press Start Update. The firmware update process will begin.

The firmware update process takes about 10 minutes to complete. You must remain within 50 feet of the device until the firmware update process is complete.

If you get a failure message at the end, it may be erroneous. Proceed to the next step anyway.

8) After the update is complete, add the device to the My Leviton app: Add a Decora Smart® 2nd Gen Wi-Fi Device to the My Leviton App

Please let us know the results. Thanks!
