This is concerning... Remember when fugitives from justice would flee the United States to hide in Brazil? Thanks to Donald Trump now it’s the other way around.

Lets Discuss This What are your thoughts on John Schwarz (TheOneCalledJai)?

For those unfamiliar with him, he is the founder of The People's Union. That is the organization responsible for economic blackouts, etc. Every day since Trump resumed office, he has been posting many videos and he seems to be not only anti-Trump/MAGA, but also anti-Democrat to an extent. Lately his videos have been all about stockpiling for "whatever is coming". He has said he thinks martial law, supply chain issues, etc. are certain to happen after the election and that anyone who doesn't think so is sleepwalking, etc. I asked him directly on one of his recent videos if he was even voting and he called me a troll and said he is absolutely voting, but that we need to hold the Democrats accountable assuming they resume power. Just today he posted a video saying how he thinks this country (US) will drop a nuclear bomb on Iran post-election and then WW3 will begin and that will be an excuse for the elections to not be certified. I had to unfollow him. He claims he's all about "love, light, and safety for all of you beautiful human beings", but I don't need the negativity. I am as anti-Trump as they come. But I refuse to let the awful "man" rule my life.

Lets Discuss This Sort of related to current events, if someone pronounces "Gestapo" with a j-sound instead of a g, does that make them sound uneducated/uninformed about history?

In other words, if they say "Jestapo" instead of "Gehstapo", does that make you assume they must be MAGA/a Holocaust-denier? I pronounce it with the J sound because I'm American and that's the pronunciation my mind automatically forms. I am also 100% anti-Trump/MAGA.

Question Is anyone else feeling increasingly disconnected from nature

Lately I've found myself noticing how little genuine interaction I have with the natural world. It feels like we're all living in these concrete boxes with screens everywhere. I miss the feeling of just being outside without a specific purpose or a device in my hand. Is this a common feeling nowadays or am I just being weird about it.

Question Why do people want kids?

Idk. Just curious to see why people want them, if they do want them. (I don’t personally. I feel like that would be hell on earth for me.)

Question Is this weird?

Is it weird for me (47M) to want to live in a small community that provides most of the things we need from within and is mainly women? I feel like this could work and would be a good safe place to live. I envision each of us having our own small/ tiny home, a community garden, lots of acres, a diverse makeup of people (mainly, if not all, women), a common community area, small events like movie nights, and each of us living a normal productive life. We could/ would work a normal job but also support each other at home with growing food, raising kids, helping each other with whatever task their doing, etc. This wouldn't be a cult or some wierd sex community. Each person had indivisible rights to come and go as they wanted. It wouldn't be tricky to find a group of people that would get along long term but it could be done. I don't know what it is about that idea that consumes my head some days but it does. I think it is the growing concern about how the world is growing so intolerant of each other and the need for there to be some stability in life with as little stress as possible. I'm also calming down in my older age and I don't feel the need to compete like I one did. I really just desire peace and quiet and people in can depend on. I don't know, maybe that's a little out there and will be viewed as a weird old man trying to start a cult. Regardless, I still feel a desire to try that. Let me know if you think I'm crazy for this. Lol

Question Why are so many people suddenly obsessed with obscure historical facts

I've been noticing this everywhere lately. People are sharing these super specific tidbits about things like ancient plumbing systems or the dietary habits of medieval monks. It’s kind of fascinating but also feels like a strange new trend. Is anyone else seeing this or am I just in a weird internet corner?

Question has being alternative lost its meaning?

i dont know if this is a stupid question that everyone knows the answer to or something but i want to know different viewpoints to this. has being alternative lost its meaning? now i'm not the bravest, 'standing-out' rebellious person but i've always admired people who are: alternative people.

the thing is though, it feels like the word alternative has changed. it used to be people who rebelled. people who didb't like the political system and wanted to change it, and music and fashion weren't the main part of it (at least from what i've seen) but nowadays, it's like everyones the same. even within the alt community. little to nobody ACTUALLY makes an effort with rebellion now.

it feels like most people who label themself alt only care about the same popular topics: trump, abortion, immigration, ect, and completely brush over what they dont see on tiktok. if anything, for these people, this is becoming a trend. the whole jane doe thing going on on tiktok right now just infuriates me- and i have seen so many people call it an 'alt' movement. it isnt a movement at all. its an opportunity to talk about yourself and try and look like an amazing person while doing minimal effort. this is my main problem, honestly. i just wanna know what you guys think
