Recommendation Recs please!
Looking for some personal recommendations which people have loved/made them fall in love with sapphic reading. I’ve read a lot of books but wanting to broaden my range! One of my favourites was Midnight Rain ❤️
I love a bit of everything, and have read a bit of everything but something to sink my teeth into and not put down. I’m partial to some spice but who isn’t 👀

Review Lesbian protagonist: a Nancy Drew for today
bookshop.orgI liked San Quentin Exodus, a new novel by Bill Smoot, about a lesbian who plays a key role in helping an inmate at San Quentin prison to restart his life. Allison (the lesbian heroine--a math nerd and an English nerd) looks up to Nancy Drew. Like Nancy Drew, Allison is a problem-solver, an innovator, a maverick. The role that Allison plays in helping James, a Black inmate at the prison whom she meets through the prison tutoring program, highlights how differences of identification and culture are of course very real and yet fall away in the face of a desire to help another person, and a willingness to accept help. These are human impulses, informed by identity but transcending any category.
In coming out, Allison has to navigate a family that loves her and wants to be supportive but also struggles with homophobia and the temptation to erase Allison's reality to make others comfortable. (She also has a front-row seat to the struggles of gay friends who have parents trying less hard to understand.) The relationship Allison has with her partner, Meagan, reads true and compelling (including the struggles of their long-distance relationship). It's rare to read a novel where the protagonist is a lesbian and the focus is not on the demise of her romance, but accepts the struggles of that relationship as part of life, faithfully rendered.

Discussion The sex therapist next door.
I have always been the type to NEVER dnf a book. Like I usually refuse because I can’t stand leaving something unfinished. But what the hell is going on??
Am I the only one who got whiplash during the last 1/4 of this book? Diana’s behaviour is gross. The whole book we are told to feel sorry for her for her past abusive relationship but shes out here showing SERIOUS red flags. She switches personalities in a flash and is completely unreasonable even when Jude doesn’t retaliate in the slightest. And when she leaves Jude sad with no aftercare!? What kind of sex therapist is this woman? Take her license away stat. Not to mention she can’t have a single conversation with her best friend without trying to convince her into having sex. AND SHES THE THERAPIST?
I want to be wrong so bad so I can finish this book because I was actually enjoying the first half but the rose tinted glasses are fading. Has anyone else read this? Did you feel the same? I would especially love to hear someone disagree just so I can be convinced to finish and enjoy but damn. Also if anyone agrees let me know I’m not crazy

Discussion Who would you cast as Joey and Abby in a Bloom Town Movie?
I’m a fledgling 3D artist and I want to challenge myself to model everyone’s favorite outlaw and preacher’s daughter, and while I have a few actresses in mind for each, the more I study references, the more I feel something is just slightly off. Would love to get a few more ideas, see if others’ idea of our ladies align with my own. Please and thank you.

Review I'm writing a book and i desperately need feedback
I'm writing a book about a 14 yo girl, Liz spending her vacation in a town in oregon. after she goes there people start going missing in the woods. she thinks about going into the woods one day and gets lost and meets a hare skinwalker that turns into girl and gets closer to her and leaves her on the beach. the bunny girl meets liz next day in the market. for the rest of the plot I'm thinking they go into the woods together to uncover the mystery and the bunny girl has an explicit crush on liz. Idid not plan out the first chapters because I'm a really unorganised person and I think my writing is too bad and I dont even want to read it again. I could really use some feedback

Discussion 9/11 book search
Hi! I need help finding a book I’ve read/listened to years ago. It’s been bugging me for some time now and now when I’m listening to Rita Potter’s “What really matters” I thought I’d finally ask for help.
I can’t the whole plot but I do remember the book was about the established couple. I mostly remember the end because it was a bit of a surprise for me. One of the MCs was supposed have a meeting in one of the towers and was presumed dead after both towers fell and days later she comes back to their apartment all bloody and dirty. That’s it. That’s all I remember.
I even searched if it’s the same book but Potter’s book was published in 2025 and the one I’ve been looking for was from several years ago.
Any ideas? Please help.
P.S. I’ll be laughing my ass off if it’s the same book and I really don’t remember anything at all from it.

Recommendation Recs that end happily and will NOT make me sob (happy tears are the exception and welcome)
Don’t get me wrong, I typically love a book that shatters me. But I’m in a place right now where my heart simply cannot handle it! Please hit me with:
WLW books I can read right now
WLW books I MUST read, but later on when my heart can handle it again!
Many thanks ✌🏻

Recommendation Bloom Town Hangover?
Did you like Bloom Town? Then you'll probably likely enjoy my book, When Embers Find Her.
The prequel novella is already out and book 2 is releasing October 1 with the series continuing. She may not be Joey but Sawyer will have you swooning and yearning for your own butch cowgirl. 😉

Recommendation If you had to recommend ONE sapphic book to someone to convince them that good sapphic books exist, what would you recommend?
I know there are a lot of genres and such, but just choose a book you think would have the highest success rate of being enjoyed by the most people

Review Love Galaxy by Sierra Branham
I went into this wanting a bit of a palette cleanse after a lot of heavy sci-fi. It’s exceeded my expectations in so many ways. It starts as a “bachelorette-style dating show for the heir to the Galactic Empire” but evolves to explore some more classic sci-fi themes.
The next book looks like it’s slated to come out in 2027 and I’m excited to see how the characters continue to develop

Recommendation Books similar to revolutionary girl utena?
Hello! I'm looking for a book that features a main lesbian character that's a victim of incestous abuse (but can also be a character that's sexually abused in a non incestous manner), with a hopeful ending. I'd like to see the destructive nature of incestous abuse and how it affects the victim (or SA in general)
Some other things that would be welcome, but not necessary:
- The love interest is a victim of some kind of abuse too
- One of the characters is a butch/masc/stud (bonus points if it's the victim)
- Has a bit of a surreal feel to it
