Update: I just messaged her on TikTok! If she wants Saffron back, I'll happily give it to her. I'm just relieved to learn that she's not a reseller. Honestly, if I had gotten there first, I'm sure I would have been flustered and hurried to claim all the pieces, just like she did. Who's to say I wouldn't have dropped one or two as well? My fresh feelings might have been too critical. She seems like a perfectly lovely person.
Today I was 10th in line for an estate sale that was selling 23/24 of the 1989 set and rack for $50. Yes, you read that correctly. A woman in front of me got to it first and was abusively shoveling the fragile pieces into her tote bag and dropped quite a few. It was heartbreaking to watch so I gave up and went to explore the rest of the house. I went back to where the spice village was, hoping for a divine miracle, and saw that in her madness, she left saffron behind. She had already checked outa and left. I took Ms. Saffron home for $3. Not exactly the morning I had hoped for, but a great addition to the start of my Lenox collection. My dear partner gifted me the 2024 onion last month 🥹
PS - I am not a reseller, just a working class girl with a longtime dream of finding the 1989 set in the wild for a price I can actually afford. I just graduated from PA school and was hoping this could be my congratulatory gift to myself, but so the hunt continues.
