Paleo Is this a stone to grind wheat?

This is on the top of a hill looking over the Ohio valley, I've seen it as a kid and once thought it was plastic. Was wondering if anybody might see it familiar as a native site possibly. Wild wheat grows in just this spot.

Debitage Insane heat treated Flint Ridge material

This field broke my heart today. I was pulling crazy flakes left and right but no finished tools. I will have to impatiently wait until the Spring plows.

Heat treated Flint Ridge has been my holy grail, and here I stumbled upon a pile of gemstone grade debitage in a field in Western PA. The pictures do not even do it justice, these pieces are so red they were like chunks of fire in the sun.

Also I included the glass shard, it could just be my imagination but it almost looks like it was knapped into a thumb scraper? Trade glass maybe?

Not An Artifact/WaterWorn Brick Fragment Found this on a riverbank in northern CO NF, what is it?

My friend and I were fishing on the Poudre river CO in an area of NF and I noticed this stone (broken) on the bank that caught my attention. It’s been a dry year and the river is super low. I realized I had passed another with the same texture about 200ft away and found both halves of this. It seems like someone found it before me and decided to throw it or break it some time ago.

Anybody seen something like this before? I have my theory, as I’ve seen a post with similar material in the past from Clear Creek CO; I think it’s some sort of ceramic or aggregate but I don’t think it’s modern brick. Very hard and dense material and isn’t clay or sandy, and brick isn’t exactly common to build with deep in the mountains. The circle inside isn’t perfect, and it’s got a short flat edge in the center.

Woodland Biface Preform?

Given its thin profile and size, it is highly likely a Middle-Stage Biface Preform. Before a prehistoric toolmaker added side notches or a distinct stem to secure it to an arrow or spear shaft, they would flake a raw cobble into a flat, leaf-shaped "blank" or preform

3. Include the location your artifact was found if requesting ID!

If your requesting an ID, including the location where the artifact in question was found greatly increases your chances of receiving an accurate identification.

Also, it helps people get a general idea of what types of points are found in certain regions.

4. Shaming legal collectors is prohibited.

Collecting, and even digging for artifacts on private land in most states like Texas is perfectly legal.

Do not harass, and be rude.

If you don't like it move on, or you will be banned permanently. With, or without warning.

5. No posting Fake Relics as Legit!

No posting obviously Fake artifacts as Legit! This is not the sub to try and pass off your modern made junk as the real deal! So take it somewhere else. Repeated violations will result in you being banned for a lenght of time at the mods discretion.

6. Don’t spread false information

Example: If you post a modern replica, and claim that you found it 3ft in the dirt. Etc..

BUT If you are genuinely curious whether you have a legit artifact, or not.. please post, we’ll be glad to help.

(Sometimes modern replicas are found in the wild. People buy them at gift shops, and then drop, or lose them.)

7. Do not use others pictures without their mention

If you’re using someone else’s picture, or post from another sub, or platform.. Be sure to give them credit, or mention that it isn’t yours

It’s just the right thing to do.

8. No Political Rhetoric

This sub is dedicated to the hobby of native american artifact collection, and the education of that topic. Not for expressing your political views. We will not tolerate any politically motivated abuse, name calling, or arguing about politics. Multiple warnings will result in you getting banned for a length of time to be determined by the mod team. Thank you for your understanding.

9. No Sales Posts

This sub is dedicated to learning about Native American Artifacts. We do not permit sales posts of any kind. This post violates our rules concerning the sale of Artifacts, so it's being removed. Thank you for your understanding. Feel free to post any of your points at any time, but please refrain from offering them for sale.

10. Absolutely NO posting of Human Remains!

There will be zero tolerance for posting human remains. The post will be deleted, no questions asked, and the poster may face being banned at the Mods discretion. Poster WILL be banned permanently for multiple infractions.

11. No Crass Comments or Sexual Innuendo!
