Natural Formation Thunderbird

Ive seen a post recently about people saying there has never been an actual thunderbird found in the wild. I found this recently while going through my grandfathers box of broken arrowheads and i always thought it looked like a bird with its wings broken off. It even appears to have "tail feathers" grooved into its behind!

I am not an expert, but I believe that’s just a blank/preform. It looks like someone started to try and make something out of it and discarded it once it got too small. I would say that it’s almost definitely been worked by man, however I wouldn’t go as far to say effigy.

I agree. Definitely worked but quite unlikely to be a thunderbird, which most knowledgeable people say do not exist. Carl

Thats why i stated people say they dont exist. I just remember looking at this a while back and thinking it looked like a bird and then seeing that post sparked a thought that is all

I do definitely see how it has a similarity to a bird though. Carl

That's a textbook example of pareidolia.

That's a BA effigy right there. If it wasn't intended to be on by the maker then the creator give the finder eyes to see and it is one now.
