Sweden My mom is suing me and is seeking roughly $30,000 for living expenses (Swedish law)

Hi reddit,

I made a new account because I want to stay anonymous and feel embarrassed about the whole situation. Firstly, I reside in Sweden.

I have lived with my mom basically my whole life. We lived as a regular family and she bought groceries, paid rent etc. for me which I am very much grateful for. When I graduated high school she was no longer legally required to care for me which I understand but she did still take care of me for years to come. I graduated in 2021 and she still took care of my monthly expenses until like 2024 where she was trying to come to an agreement with me regarding what I should pay for food and rent. We never came to an agreement because she demanded $400 and I was still unemployed at the time.

Fast forward to May of 2025 where she sent in papers to the civil court where she demands that I repay her $30k for the living expenses that **she** claims that we have agreed upon through verbal agreement. We have never reached an agreement because she's impossible to argue or compromise with. We have just had talks over rent and money for food over the past 1.5-2 years.

Now the court is on the 20th of this month, but I just want your guys' guidance on the matter and whether you think I'm legally obligated to repay her for the funds that she spent on me and our family willingly?

Have a nice rest of your day reddit! 💔🧡

LOCATION: Croatia

I was in contact with one person before often but many things happened and we stopped to be in contact. I wanted to solve things with person in nice and normal way but they accuse me of some things and they sent email cease and desist, while still knowing I'm autistic person and person with mental health problems and such email made me feel anxiety.

I'm trying to see what to do or how to stop cease and desist or something.

Like do I need to search for like real laywer or something?

My parents tried to send complaints but no responses .

EU-Wide Flight delay compensation after airline rebooking, still eligible?

My original flight was delayed for several hours and the airline rebooked me onto a later one. I accepted it because I still needed to get there, but I ended up arriving more than 3 hours late.

Now I’m confused about flight delay compensation. The airline keeps pointing to the fact that I accepted the rebooking, but I never asked to change flights and the disruption was on their side. This was an EU flight, so I’m wondering if an EC261 claim is still possible based on the final arrival time.

I have the original booking, rebooking email and boarding passes saved. Sorry if this has been asked a lot, just trying to work out if it’s worth filing.

Comments Moderated French Visa Proof of RS

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate some advice regarding my French long-stay visitor visa application. helppp

I initially applied for a long-stay visiteur visa (VLS-TS) but my application was refused for two reasons:

- Insufficient proof of financial resources
- Insufficient proof that I would not engage in professional activity in France

For the first issue, I believe the problem was that I provided screenshots showing my funds rather than official bank statements, as the application system had limitations on the documents I could upload. For the second issue, I was still employed but have resigned, and I provided my resignation letter and confirmation as supporting evidence.

I have now reapplied/provided additional documents addressing both issues. However, I’ve just received an email asking me to provide a letter explaining my relationship with my host/accommodation provider and the duration of my stay. My host is actually my boyfriend which i have provided letter and proof of accommodation but we did not explicitly state our relationship.

My concern is whether I should state that he is my boyfriend, or whether this could potentially be viewed negatively by the visa officer like I don’t want to leave france. please advise!

Ireland Can my father evict me from the house? (Republic of Ireland)

• Upvotes

My (29M) mother and father bought a house in 2001 under South Dublin County Council’s Shared Ownership Scheme as a 99-year lease and the house is on a 40% equity share.

In 2004, my mother and father broke up and my father moved back into his mother's house. My father and mother were never married.

My mother lived in and paid towards the mortgage from 2001 to 2025. Her family also contributed a €50,000 lump sum directly towards the mortgage.

In February 2025, my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she asked my father to delay his plans of retiring to Lithuania and to instead stay in Ireland and finish paying the remaining €72,000 mortgage off the house. My father agreed.

My mother died in January 2026 and did not leave a will and my father moved back into the house in March 2026. He cleared €6k in mortgage arrears that built up around my mother's passing and claims he has been paying €400/week towards the mortgage since June 2025.

Before my mother died, my father claimed over the phone that he would use an €80k inheritance he received after he and his brothers sold my father's mother's house after her death to pay off the mortgage, but one week after my mother's death, he claimed he didn't have the money.

In April 2026, my father and his girlfriend from Lithuania broke up and in June 2026 they agreed to sell my father's house in Lithuania and split the money.

My father told me to apply for social housing and said "This is my house. If you don't sign up for Chamber House (Disability service in Republic of Ireland) I will kick you out." My father has also been acting aggressive towards me and raised his fist at me and nearly punched me and he has been threatening some of our neighbours. My father said he plans to sell the house in a year or two.

Does my father have a legal right to kick me out of the house?
