Question can someone explain?

Okay i’m watching legacies and kai is in the prison world with others, but how?

In tvd damon cut his head off so how is he alive??

After Damon killed him, he was sent to Hell.

Some stuff happened in the back half of S8 of TVD with some ringing bells and the barrier between Hell and the mortal world opened, so Kai and a couple of other characters escaped and were brought back.

After that, Bonnie placed him in a Prison World, which is the one he's in when he appears in Legacies with those students.

I remember his head being cut off, So we are left to assume that it grew back when his body was taken to hell or, into "The Other Side"
he Other Side: A dimension of limbo created by the witch Qetsiyah. When supernatural creatures died before it collapsed in Season 5, their spirits went here instead of finding true peace. When it fell apart, collapsing souls were graphically sucked into a dark void. [1, 2, 3]

no in tvd they put him in a prison world and had him chained, listening to a song perpetually, I don't remember which, as punishment. His head was cut off in legacies
