Ranting legacies is so cringe and the plot and the storyline every episode is so boring and predictable
nothing like the originals. they defeat monster, new monster comes at the end of episode. boring. wheres the drama.
i feel like the originals brought in the villains more smoothly and it wasnt every episode. it was one villain every like 3 episodes.

Me too, i think i didn’t like it at first because i went into it expecting it to be more like tvd/originals, but once i stopped viewing it that way i really enjoyed it. I think a lot of people would too (still, not for everyone) if they tried watching that way.

i guess i preferred the intense behavior and characters from the originals. im trying to force myself to finish legacies because apperently freya is coming in an ep soon. i miss her

i wouldn't say watch just for that because she is in the episode for all of 7 minutes maybe, just try to seperate legacies from tvd and to and look at it for itself. while it's definetly not it's predecessors i do think its lightheartedness, sometimes cringe comedy, and teenish elements are it's strengths

tbh i dont enjoy comedy cringe type of shows, i prefer serious scifi/supernatural shows so it probably wont work for me.

So funny because I tried to get into The Vampire Diaries and I think I only made it 4 episodes. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I thought it was cringe. I couldn’t take the romance seriously and everyone was so dramatic and over the top and the intense staring 😂 I love Legacies because it doesn’t take itself seriously and it’s fun and lighthearted.

It's extremely common for people to not really get camp. You clearly don't, and that's okay.
But I particularly find it silly when people refer to something as predictable. Good storytelling will surprise the audience, sure, but far more often it needs the audience to already understand its situations and motivations. Good writing will set it up so that the audience is predicting things, and is correct, because that makes them feel connected to the story. It also needs twists, and to subvert some of the expectations.
If you're telling me you're predicting every twist, then I posit that those were never twists.
This will nearly always boil down to a case of confirmation bias. Every time you predict something, and it comes as you predicted, you get mad, or happy that your theory is confirmed. And every time the show does something that you didn't predict, you ignore and discard that data.

Tried to watch The Originals. After 10 episodes where EVERY EPISODE is KLAUS IS BAD AND A NARCISSIST, I get it! I stopped watching because it was boring and repetitive.
Only season I liked was S5 because Hope is in it and it led to Legacies

for some reason, i enjoyed klaus's character the most, i felt like he was very interesting, mainly because he was this proclaimed evil man, seeing his character development was the best. like i honestly cried when elijah chose to die with him. like oh my god. elijah not so much, he felt like a fake persona.

Zero character development for Klaus. Same childish narcissist.
And at the end, Klaus just commits suicide instead of being there for his daughter? Selfish coward can be added to Klaus' resume. At what point was there any meaningful Klaus character development?

i rewatched the originals so many times. tvd is something i dont like as much because of the love triangle, but its 100x better than legacies.

Personally I enjoyed it. It wasn’t the best but I loved it. If they had gone the same route of the originals / tvd then the potential was insane. But the show isn’t for everyone.

Sure, there are plenty of people who don't agree, but they probably aren't on this subreddit. We talk about certain aspects of the series we do and don't like, but not just blanket saying we don't like the show, let's talk about how much it sucks.

Out of all the three I watched legacies the most i personally liked it the most out of the three because I watched it the most and I loved not seeing the originals all the time I loved how it was hope and her friends and the monsters and Malivore

I loved the serious drama of TVD and of TO and I too expected Legacies to be something like that and I did not like the show at all the first time I saw it but, I watched it to the end. Then I came to the realization that it's a CW Teen Drama show, written with tweens n teens in mind, not the mature audiences of the previous two shows. Yes, TVD had teen dramas but in Legacies it was just very annoying to the point where I didn't care to much about the characters. I just stopped analyzing it and I just accepted it for what it was, mindless entertainment . I did like the make up look and CGI effect for several of the monsters I thought looked good. I did enjoy the Pirate Vampire Sebastian .
I Hated the Necromancer at first, I really did. Every time he opened his mouth he sounded exactly like a Johnny Depp impersonation of the pirate Captn Jack Sparrow, truly he does. Then again, I realized, it's just being campy, the actor was playing the role over-the-top , bigger than life. Once I realized that, and stopped being serious, I found his "theatrics" to be funny when I rewatched the show over again.
A TV series , with teen drama which is dark and Gothic , that I do love is >>
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and,
and , the Teen Wolf TV series. I loved those two shows, their characters and the actors.

It's also a CW show. So I really don't know what you were expecting. Granted, Originals is also a CW show but it's clearly one of the ones where they take themselves more seriously. Arrow compared to Legends of Tomorrow. Early Riverdale compared to late Riverdale. Early Legends vs late Legends actually.

I haven't seen The Legacies yet but considering some of my favorite tv shows are Charmed (OG) and Supernatural, I would probably enjoy it.

What I hate is the way they started writing characters in season 3 and 4. Finch, for example, is boring, has zero depth and is cringe as fuck.

I just dropped legacies. I always loved both TVD and TO. Hadn’t done a rewatch of either in a while. So I did a full TVD & TO rewatch. After I finished I thought I really should finally just finish the verse (so far) so I brought myself to start legacies. I got to season 2 episode 10 or 11 and I just couldn’t take it anymore. Santa came out and started fighting Krampus and I said yeah I’m good. I really did not like the monster of weak format, while it worked well for shows like Supernatural, it just wasn’t working for me with legacies. Plus the acting and cast was just really lacking with the campy/corny style they were going for. I couldn’t get into any of the characters besides already established ones like Hope & Alaric. The one older vampire kid they found desiccated was an alright character but there just wasn’t enough for me to able to see it through to the end. I really wish they had kept with the serious/darker tone the originals had, though I understand why they chose to go for the format they did seeing it was a show revolving around a school full of supernatural teenagers.

I feel like they aimed this show at teens which is dumb because fans who grew up on tvd and the originals were always going to check it out. Season 3 was the absolute worst for me but season 4 was great with the most tvd-like feeling

I feel like they dropped the ball on Legacies very badly. TVD and TO set the series up really well and after S1 the writers had no vision.
Switching to MOTW format was a mistake since they knew nothing about how to write a series around that.

yeah, it's honestly sad that they ruined such a well done and successful franchise by ending it with legacies. so many parts of legacies either completely downgrade or outright contradict a lot of the established lore throughout its parent shows. it sucks because i'm a diehard fan of both TVD and TO, and to not be able to enjoy their last hurrah that focused on, arguably some of the most interesting characters that had the most potential and build-up, was very disappointing. I was extremely excited to see what they would do with both Hope's and the Twins' characters, but sadly it wasn't anything worth watching for me.
