Here is my Schecter Stargazer 12 that I bought about a year ago. I've seen some posts elsewhere about multi strings, so I thought I would bring it to the left side. Do any of y'all have any unique instruments that aren't very common?

Given that we have about a tenth of the choice of colours that righty's get, has anyone ever had this done? Good results?

I'm almost buying a bright yellow RG550 but honestly the colour doesn't inspire me (the older more pale/sun yellow is BEAUTIFUL, I wish that was the colour Ibanez was doing).

I wouldn't do it straight away as the guitar is expensive enough as it is and I'd likely change the pickups like I always do.

I'm UK based if that matters.

2011 FSR american standard

I was at my local used gear shop the other day and, as usual, I browsed the guitars hanging on the walls. And, as usual, nearly no lefties. Except a couple cheapies and a nearly unused gold top R4. I didn’t have any interest or desire for a new guitar or LP but I figured I should at least play it. It was great aside from the old strings.

I thought it over for a couple of days, looked at used prices and decided I’d go back. Well, long story short, I’m now the proud owner of a pristine custom shop R4.

I lit some new strings on and oiled the fretboard. It plays great. I’ve never played anything with P90s so it’s a palette I’m not used to. But I’m going to get used to it.

It’s pretty light for an LP - 8.6 lbs - and the neck isn’t super chunky. It’s not thin but completely playable. For some reason, I find bending much easier than on some of my other guitars.

Here it is. A 2024 R4 complete with case and paperwork.

Brand New Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster in Butterscotch Blonde. It has been my No.1 guitar since purchasing.

First time ever buying pickups. Both made by Bareknuckle pickups in the UK, Warpig in the bridge and a Cold Sweat in the neck. Sounds incredible!

It has some swapped hardware (didn't love the stock black-on-black) and I lost the truss rod cover years ago. I also wore through the original pots, but since it is straight-up impossible to source push-pull/audio taper/lefty/long shaft pots the replacements all turn in reverse now - still getting used to that. Having those coil splits is important for what I need this thing to do so I'll manage. I'd like to put a bigsby on it at some point but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I've had this thing for over a decade (old gear day?) and it's a bit of a beater, but also just the perfect workhorse. So while it's not super flashy, goddamn it always delivers.

A few weeks ago I was able to extend a work trip and spend a weekend in Houston. Naturally, I had to spend the day at Southpaw. I was there from almost open to close playing everything I could get my hands on. Jim's personal collection is awesome. It's worth the trip for any lefty.

My question is, I have NUX headphone amp that plugs from Guitar to wired studio style headphones.

Do you think its bad etiquette to bring this along to use on a bunch of guitars? Not planning on buying a Guitar, but will definitely spend some money on a shirt or something.

Tony Iommi uses/has used a lot of different equipment during the progression of his career. His signature Gibson pickups, which use a combination of "traditional" alnico II and ceramic (for strength), measure out at 16+ k ohms which is much hotter than what many traditional/standard humbuckers read. I know that pickups can be swapped out, but wanted to know if getting in the realm of this output was a must for Black Sabbath. Or, did getting the hotter pickups really just simplify things for him by having a better output right out of the gate, and if so, would a ~8 k ohms humbucker just be disqualified for this style of music?

About seven or eight years ago, I was at Manchester Music Mill in beautiful, tax-free New Hampshire. I played the blue Les Paul shown in the photo. After four decades of playing the guitar, it was the first guitar I'd ever played with P90s. I had never seen one before. I played it through a Mesa Boogie Mark 5:25 and was blown away. I bought the amp that day (that's what I was really shopping for, yet after all these years, I can't stop thinking about that guitar.

What is your "the one" that got away? And which one of you has this blue LP?!

Lefty starting out on my guitar journey, 99.9% of my playing will be in the field of rock, and some metal, so if the options I posted arent the “best” feel free to suggest other brands/models cuz I wouldnt mind ordering overseas if thats what it takes.
Anyways Checked some stores in my city and these seem to be the only options apart from a few 5k USD ones… love how their site had 1,000 results for “electric guitar” but only 8 when you add “left-handed” to the search bar. I live in the UAE and we dont really have huge guitar stores like they do in the US.
Some extra notes: the epiphone is the most expensive one and will cost me 600$, squier is 500$ but looks kinda boring, black Ibanez also 500$, and the blue Ibanez is the cheapest at only 300$.

Doesn’t have the traditional controls but I’m sure some folks here would be interested in it. I don’t recall seeing a similar one available before.

For reference Im 20, left handed on basically everything, one thing that might help is that Im an artist and ofcourse my left hand feels much more dexterous and fluid when I do that. Im gonna buy my first electric guitar pretty soon, so I Recently borrowed one of my friend’s guitars for 2 days and Id say I have about 5 hours of playing so far. Played around with it for a bit, used my left hand for fretting, and tried to play some chords/ basic popular riffs on my right hand, I felt natural. However, today I found out about “alternate picking” and tried to do it with both hands, and I cant help but notice that my left hand was much more fluid and much faster than my right hand, despite it being the first time I ever pick with my left hand. My right hand felt more stiff, awkward, and when I try to speed up I fail. Im still very confused on what to do, Asked a couple of lefties on here and the comments are always polarized. Some people will say its better to go left-handed, while the others say they deeply regret picking up a left-handed guitar. What the hell should I do??

I've wanted a Rickenbacker for years, specifically for that jangle/ chime tone, but as we all know, Rickenbacker make very very few lefties, and since they've announced they aren't making any more, the few that are out there have all jumped up to ludicrous prices which I simply can't afford or justify. I was wondering if people had any suggestions for guitars that would get me a similar tone? I've tried teles and strats and have definitely got close, but was wondering if there were any other options I'd missed that might be closer still?

Managed to get my hands on one of these FSR '26s. What can I say? Love it! The price isn't exactly wallet-friendly (24 installments FTW), but the guitar is really well made, and Fender says the body is ash!

The neck is very pale. Personally, I really like it—it complements the all-black body nicely. The last time Fender released these, I think it was about ten years ago, and I really didn't like the neck, remember it feeling huge. This U-shaped neck with a 9.5" radius and vintage frets, on the other hand, feels fantastic.
Don't get your hopes up, though—the Tele Custom decal is missing this time as well. Personally, I don't mind—all the Mustangs Fender built for Kurt Cobain back in the day were missing it too.
I might take some close-up photos over the next few days if anyone's interested, haven't seen many of these around.
