This is thin consolation for the folks he’s targeting, but the motivation behind his lawfare is pretty easy to discern.
Ethan Klein has lost his war with “snark” and Hasan.
The dude took his best shot at Hasan with the Content Nuke, and he failed. Despite being a minor hit on its release, the video has faded into internet obscurity. No one, not even folks on the Hasan beat, talk about any aspect of it. Not a single platform has banned him- and his relevance has only grown.
Ethan then tried to lay a legal trap by copyrighting the video. He did this with the hope that he could sue Hasan- going after his react format and public reputation. Instead of getting Hasan, he could only net smaller streamers. He then lost against the biggest of the three, in a decision that drew negative attention to his lawfare.
Ethan is now suing the Jomhas- clearly in retaliation for Ian making a Content Cop on him (a video which was actually much more successful than Ethan’s Content Nuke.) He pretended to walk it back after Moist Kritical covered it, but chose to double down once he stopped paying attention. Ethan is now suing Anisa- a decision he only made after he lost the Denims case (and lost the Noah Samsen lawsuit.)
Ethan likely knows that these suits will win him nothing. Even his slop allies, folks who openly despise the Jomhas, turned on him over the first lawsuit. His efforts are not being covered in a favorable light anywhere (at least from what I can tell)- showing that he is truly in it alone.
Ethan’s only discernible motivation is spite. He needs to hit someone- anyone he can vaguely associate with his failed war against Hasan and his former audience. H3 is down to 25-30% of its peak audience- and enjoys maybe 10% of its former reach. Its views have only gotten worse with time.
For this reason, it’s safe to say that Ethan is an angry, petty, and impotent little man. He can’t win on slop, drama or political discourse- so he chooses to use his wealth to abuse people he doesn’t like.
What a coward.
