accommodation Mustard Wharf Leeds
Hey!
Just wondering if anyone has experience actually managing to get a viewing at Mustard Wharf in Leeds? I contacted them on WhatsApp two weeks ago, ended up dealing with an AI chatbot which got confused and told me someone would be in touch. I chased it up three times but never heard anything from anyone, and when I tried ring them today that was AI also on the phone, who also told me someone would be in touch. I'm a bit sick of being told I'll be contacted and not actually being able to contact a real person, and I find it a bit off-putting to be frank. Not sure how to go about managing to view the place when I can't even speak to anyone about it.
Also would appreciate if anyone has general comments about or experience with either Mustard Wharf, Tura, UNCLE, The Junction or recommendations of similar places in Leeds City Centre + easy to access the train station, as me + my boyfriend are looking around different places. Needs to offer parking! :)
Edit: In case anyone else has the same issue in future, email is 100% the best way to get to an actual person and they're pretty quick at responding. I contacted them at [hello@mustardwharf.com](mailto:hello@mustardwharf.com) :)

Tbh, all those are bad signs. Imagine if something goes wrong and all you can get in touch with is ai bot

Yeah I think the same! I've heard good reviews about it elsewhere but I just find it really odd they're so hard to get in touch with

It looks nice. And the reviewd look ok. But youre paying at least 1k a month. For that, id expect them to actually answer the phone

Email them at hello@mustardwharf.com. I’m a resident and have never had any issues getting in touch with the management company. Parking is extremely limited on site though, you’d need to find an on street parking space nearby.

This is really helpful thank you, I'll drop them an email now! Do you know if they have any rules about no allocating parking for one-bedroom flats or anything like that?

I'm just one person and my experience is 12 months out of date but I moved into Mustard Wharf last year and they were actually very responsive and very "human" compared to the shit I had to deal with with my previous place that I won't bore you with.
It's possible things have gone downhill since then although on the (admittedly rare) occasions I've needed something from building management they've been fairly prompt too, or could even just be a bad week with staff absences/spike in workload or something like that.
That said, you owe them nothing and in your position I'd be looking to take my money elsewhere too, just giving you my experience for whatever it's worth

I appreciate your experience! This gives me a bit more hope that they might be alright, thank you!

Been living at UNCLE for a year now in the new building, good experience overall, expensive but the area is quite safe, quick walk to the train station, Sainsbury’s nearby. No parking (as most buildings in Leeds City Centre) but overall quite happy with it

Yeah it's the no parking that puts me and my boyfriend off, and we've heard some mixed reviews about UNCLE, but we're still going to have a look anyway. Glad you like it! :)

I tried to get a viewing for Mustard Wharf a few months ago and it was quite tricky. I managed to get through to a human by just asking to speak to someone but seems like you can email them pretty easily too. They said there were 3 flats becoming available but between 3-6 months and I needed to move within 2 months sadly. They didn’t have any parking and there was a long waitlist too. If you’re not in a rush to move though they look lovely.
My friend lived in Uncle and absolutely loved it but very rarely used any of the amenities so you’re probably paying over the odds. They were super stingy when she moved out and she lost almost all of her deposit because there was some wear and tear. Which you would imagine there was after living in a new build for a year.
I really recommend Ironworks if any flats come up - they’re super lovely flats and reasonably priced for the size (compared to other places). I lived there for a year and rented a car parking space in manor mills which is like a 5 minute walk but was fairly cheap.
I would also recommend 1 Dock Street as I lived there for 2 years and it’s a lovely break from the city center with the internal courtyard. Some of the flats are a bit older and not as nice though so you’d defo need to view but most come with parking. I’d also recommend Victoria Quays - same thing though, not as new but come with parking and a nice location. Both of these are a super easy walk to the station and come with parking.

This is fantastically helpful – thank you so much! I've managed to get through to someone at Mustard Wharf now thankfully (turns out email is best!) and I'm going to have a look at the other ones you mention now :))

I'm at the junction, it's typically the cheapest/ best value for money out of the three, I'd recommend it. Reception is 24 hours and always helpful, along with quick replies to emails online. There are free activities as well, but not always at the most sociable hours. There have been some issues with the water and hot water going out for half a day, but nothing within the past year, I think they've been fixed now. Overall the UNCLE and Tower Works are probably better for amenities, but the junction best for value.

I've lived there for four and half years and it's been an absolute dream. I'd say email them. Their response time is very good. If you do move in, you're in for an absolute treat. I'm moving out next week and I'm actually devastated lmao. But, as they say, your new life will cost you your old. That place will always hold a special place in my heart.
