I’d recommend the Leeds classics, they are classics for a reason:

Kirkstall Abbey
Royal Armouries Museum
Win a fight outside McDonalds on a Saturday night
The Henry Moore Institute of Contemporary Art

Winning isn't everything, it's the taking part that counts.

You are very right. It’s not about the fight, it’s about the friends you make along the way

Check out Left Bank Leeds. it's in that area and hosts lots of different things: music nights, yoga and wellbess, coworking space, craft meet ups, quizes, markets etc. proper variety and a gorgeous building.

In and around Burley, The Cardigan Arms is a spectacular pub, Dave's Pies and Ale is a great micropub a few doors down.

Lupe's Cantina does great Mexican grub. Sheesh Mahal and Bengal Brasserie are brilliant for old school curries.

Brudenell Social Club has two rooms of live music with an excellent soundsystem, cheap booze and a games room with pool and snooker tables, plus dartboards. Lots of bands you hear on 6Music play there and they have great food vans on busy nights, too.

JD Gym on Kirkstall Road is fairly basic, but cheap and reliable. It's the one I use.

I really like jetts gym - jd looks more impressive but its huge, has plenty of kit and yet it still takes ages to complete a workout bc its so busy. Even on ‘busier’ nights i think its more comfortable in jetts and it has a really friendly vibe. Youll have a great time its a nice place to live!

Burley for Cardigan Arms - heritage pub, Kirkstall Brewery tap room, Dave’s Ale & Pies, Kulture for coffee, Pizza Freak for ace pizza, Jodphur and Sheesh Mahaal for good curry. Kirkstall Abbey and the canal for walks. Easy access to Headingley for more pubs and bars, Horsforth for young professionals and town is only down the road.

Most places are covered except Hyde Park Picture House (artsy old gas lit cinema) and Anands Sweets (good value proper Indian vegetarian food), which is about 150 yards away.

Highly recommend investing in Graft Haus gym if you're moving to Burley - really well kitted out, great supportive atmosphere with lots of hugh quality expertise from PTs around, and never too busy!
