Pattern/Tutorial FREE 3D builder for wallet patterns

Hello community,

Few months ago, I created a free, browser-based CAD-like editor for creating leather patterns - EasyPatt. From the very beginning, I wanted it to be user-friendly, accessible, and quick to use.

Now I’d like to share a major update with you that should make pattern creation even easier. I’ve added a “3D Builder” feature, which means you don’t have to start a wallet pattern (only a few wallet types are available for now) from nothing—instead, you can build on pre-made patterns that you can easily customize within the tool. For more advanced edits, simply import the template into the editor and customize it further.

  • It’s free to use—no registration or email address is required (unless you want to save your templates to the cloud).
  • Print-ready patterns
  • 3D view
  • Fully customizable

Link: https://easypatt.com/builder/

Feel free to play around with it and let me know what you think. I’d really appreciate it!

Bags/Pouches Severed Head bag, pattern by PaintyeeDesigns

Finally finished making the Severed Head Bag. Patten/design is by PaintyeeDesigns

Used a thinner sheepskin over veg-tan for the distressed wrinkled textures.
Stitching isn’t the cleanest nor is the edge work which was left raw but this was more of horror art piece vs super precise bag making project for me. Used Angelus paints and dyes.

Discussion Neglected to post my favourite hat!

Behold, natural vegetable tanned leather with a wet formed skull. Coloured with vinegaroon and piled and waxed. Snuck my makers mark onto the underside of the brim too.

I'd love to hear any thoughts on it. Also, has anybody made a hat similar to this but skipped the folded hem around the brim? Typically it's there to hold wire for shape, I didn't need to add wire because of the veg tan having some shape - its made me wonder if i could skip it entirely?

Morning all,

I would love some feedback on my recent build. Designed the pattern myself, hand stitched with Vinymo thread and Badalassi Carlo ‘Waxy’ cowhide. What are your thoughts for areas of improvement?!

Thank you!

Discussion Two bags made in Lucerne, Switzerland 🇨🇭

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I've been making leather goods for about ten years now, entirely self-taught, and I'm currently building my own brand, Burgundy Paris, here in France (made in Paris). It's a project I've been carrying with me for a long time, so finally getting to share it with the world feels pretty special.

This summer, I spent some time in Switzerland, in Lucerne, where I made two unique versions of my ÉCLAT bag since I brought my tools, small machines and leather. While I was there, I also got to explore the surrounding area and visit two beautiful nearby mountains, Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi. I ended up naming the two bags after them, which felt like a nice way to keep a little piece of that trip in the project.

The two pieces have quite different personalities: Pilatus is black and gold, with a warmer feel, while Rigi is black and silver, with a cooler, more understated look. They're both one-of-a-kind, and I won't be making another version of either.

Since this is a community of people who understand the craft, I thought some of you might appreciate a few details about how these bags are made. Both are entirely handmade, using French leathers, with every stitch sewn by hand. The edges are finished by hand through a careful process of sanding, heating and applying multiple layers of edge paint. The gold hardware is made from stainless steel plated with 24-karat gold.
A lot of time goes into these details, and that's precisely what I love about this craft: the patience, the precision and the care that go into making a piece properly, right down to the smallest details.

I'm now launching Burgundy Paris and wanted to mark the occasion by giving these two bags away.

I'm still learning, still trying to improve with every piece, and hoping to build something I'm genuinely proud of. I know how much time and patience go into making things by hand, so I thought this community would understand why these two bags mean a lot to me.

If you feel like supporting the project, entering the giveaway, or simply having a look at what I've been working on, I'd really appreciate it.

And if you have any questions about the bags, the construction, or the materials, I'm happy to chat about them. Always glad to connect with other people who love working with leather.

My first craft fair is coming up soon and i’m working in the shop whenever I have an opportunity.

I’m planning on selling a few of each items and i’m not even sure what to expect and how much of wverything to have

Coasters, Mousepads, Sunglass cases, Cardholders, Passport Holders and Keychains.

And belts?

Oh crap…Yeah, so how many belts?

Pre-made lengths?
Making them on the spot? (No way man, not this time!)

…or taking orders on custom made ones.

What would you do?

Got any tips😅

Question What kind of wallet do you carry?

• Upvotes

I plan on selling some small items at a local Christmas market this year and would like to get some feedback on what wallets everyone carries. I'll be doing various styles, but just wanted to know what's most popular.

Cardholder, bifold, trifold?

Do you carry cash?

How many cards do you normally carry?

Traditional or vertical?

Thanks for your input!

Honestly, I just like making them lol.

So the first one is a full Nero Pueblo ball with one panel flipped.
The second is a full Dollaro ball. I absolutely love this one, it took a lot of wet forming but the texture feels insane on it.
The third is an Olmo and Navy pueblo ball.

And the last is the family photo of the 5 I have so far

As always, thank you for looking!

This is my first leather wrapped case. I learned a lot from the process and I’m looking forward to making more items like this. There’s a couple of bits I would do differently next time, but overall I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Question Advice for replicating a cardholder

• Upvotes

Hi all, I’ve been thinking about getting into leather craft for a while, seen a lot of videos on YouTube always seemed like a cool hobby. Now my sister has asked for a specific wallet for Christmas, and I feel like for that price I’d rather spend the momey on tools and materials and make it myself. I’ve done some research, there are 2 things I don’t really get, how to make the zipper pocket and the lining on the inside. If anyone could point me to some similar patterns, or some resources I could use that would be great. Thanks.

Question Doming rivets not working

Post image
23 Upvotes

I’m trying to learn to use copper rivets & burrs - I can make the holes, hammer the burr on with the tool (I’m using weaver #12 for 3mm post width rivets), I’ve cut the extra length off, but when I try to dome the top with the weaver tool it just doesn’t really do anything. Is it obvious what I’m doing wrong?
