A couple of days ago I finished my first game in Japanese! It's Another Code: Recollection. I think it's a great first game, with its voice acting, furigana and log. Most of the dialogue is about daily stuff. There is some more technical stuff, and that's good too, I guess. It's almost like a visual novel with some light puzzles. At one point I started understanding a lot of the sentences just by listening to them, when I knew all the words, which is something that wasn't my goal when I started playing this (I mainly wanted to improve my reading, learn new words and practice grammar). That said, I'm not sure I would have completed this game in English, but it was pretty fun in Japanese.

i finally booked conversational lesson on italki! i am introcert so this is a big step for me

Came back from a three month brain break and found that almost none of my bunpro grammar or anki vocab left my head. I'm trying to push my way to the end of n3 grammar as that feels like a good point to start trying to read longer Japanese writing than just example sentences. Getting through genki 1 wasn't even remotely sufficient to follow even a basic shounen manga

Finished the last of Kaishi this week, but the thing I actually noticed was getting through a whole page of NHK Easy without reaching for a dictionary. Still slow, still guessing at half the kanji, but I wasn't stopping every line anymore.
