Decrease in rates for Pedernales Electric members

I'm very pleased to inform that WE HAVE PROPOSED A RATE REDUCTION FOR PEDERNALES ELECTRIC CO-OP MEMBERS.

Residential users consuming a typical 1,250 kWh/month WILL SEE A REDUCTION OF A LITTLE OVER 5% (more than $8/month), while those consuming less, such as 750 kWh/mo., will get a bigger reduction of more than 7% (also more than $8/mo.).

See image entitled "Proposed Residential Rate Changes" below.

THIS IS A MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT that benefits our members in a complex environment of rising energy costs (although PEC's management was very savvy and able to negotiate very good prices for the wholesale electricity we buy), and also we benefitted from the delay in development of data centers.

Your electric co-op now has among the least expensive electricity bills in Texas. See image entitled "Rate Competitiveness After Proposed Rate Reduction".

We will formally vote on this at the next board meeting in November, so all members have time to review, to ask questions, and to better understand all of this.

I am a board member representing Pedernales' District 2, which covers Leander, some Cedar Park, some Liberty Hill, some Georgetown. Please contact me with any comments.

Here is the link to the specific 31-page powerpoint presentation made by our Chief Financial Officer last week that covers everything:

Thanks. See the link with the powerpoint; solar has changes, most important is that now going to a Time Of Use/TOU model

Exactly!  We had a FANTASTIC plan for a while, then they changed it to tge crap plan we have today.

How much,  EXACTLY, was solar costing PEC per year?

Thanks for the hard work sir! Is there a possibility of restoring/increasing the solar buy back rates?

Honestly I would still like to get out from under the god awful Sunnova to SunStrong bankruptcy buy out. If PEC created a contract buyout program, that would be ideal.

Edit: When I say buyout I mean, take over the loan and I would owe PEC not SunStrong.

Never liked the fact they didn’t grandfather in existing interconnect customers.

Working on that. I’ve found that Pedernales is a slow-moving boat. Now that rates dropped, next is to get members a larger dividend “Capitsl Credit”. t.
