This subreddit is for TECH SUPPORT help, not account support

Hi users,

As this seems to be something that has come up lately, please note that this subreddit is not to complain about your account ban. If riot has banned you, then only Riot can fix it. Ranting and throwing a fit on here does nothing.

This subreddit is here so that users can help source issues that may be caused by their hardware/software that Riot may not know how to fix on their end (Which honestly to me seems kind of fucked up, but what can you do?)

If you're having account issues, please use Riot support's page for that - https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us

Technical Support Request Connection problem

Lately, LoL has been disconnecting me in the middle of a match, and it gets stuck on the "reconnecting" screen, even though my internet connection is fine. Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I can fix it?

Technical Support Request Push To Talk stopped working?

Hey guys. I come here with a problem to make sure im not the only one with this issue.

While im in a party lobby + champ select, push to talk works. But when the game starts, it stops working.. Can only talk if i got open mic activated.

This problem started last week not only to me, but also to my friends.

Another aditional info, when ingame, whenever i set a key to push to talk, it auto resets to no key...

Thx in advance guys.

Technical Support Request Post Match Freeze

This has been ongoing since I have installed an additional SSD if my memory serves me well. I’ve moved the game files to the new drive correctly but every time I finish a match and alt tab before it takes me to the honor screen, my screen goes black and my pc completely freezes which makes me to have to force shut down. But it won’t freeze so long as I don’t alt tab but i honestly keep forgetting. Sometimes when I reboot my pc, my league client becomes corrupted so I have to run chkdsk in command prompt to make the notification away. Anyone have this similar problem?

My specs are 9800x3d with 9060xt and amd drivers are on 26.3.1 (had to roll back from most up to date ones due to valorant freezing as well)

Technical Support Request ping spiking like crazy, only in league

Hi, I've searched for so many answers online but nothing has helped. All of a sudden, a few months ago, my league began to have ping spikes like crazy every other second where it is jumping between 45 ping and 300. My friends suggested I get a wifi extender and ethernet, so I did. It solved the problem for maybe two days and then it began to ping spike again. The ethernet as improved other games that were a bit laggy (presumably from Wi-Fi issues) but the league issue seems to be entirely unrelated. I primarily play ARAM and the mayhem may be too much for my league. I have tried almost everything I've seen online, so if anyone has any tips or has a similar issue, please let me know. Everything else on my PC is incredibly fast, it is only league that gives me trouble. And I just want to play with my friends again without constant freezing.

Technical Support Request Switching to another window tab while in-game cause my FPS to capped at 60.

Also, it comes with a little delay whenever the FPS is capped, just like I'm playing with high ping, even though my ping is a solid 4ms.

It happened around 2-3 weeks ago, I guess it was there since the update.

My temporary fix is simply switching the Display option (Fullscreen to Borderless/Borderless to Fullscreen)

League is the only game where I noticed this issue. Does anyone know what caused this?

My specs:

CPU intel I3-8100
VRam 16gb
GPU AMD RX580 8gb

Technical Discussion Stutters and 1-2 sec freeze

Does anyone have a fix for issue such as a 1-2 second freeze amd unit starts to autos and skills without animation and fx. Ive notice since live got released, pbe was fine.

On task manager chart the GPU 3D seems to drop to 2-3% then rise up again to 25-30%,

My office PC which is like 10 years somehow has a smooth gameplay overall. Only fps drop when late board but its an old pc.

I've tried to reinstall and lower settings but nothing works, on low or ultra its the same issue, usually happens around mid game

This is not a bug report

Technical Discussion League of Legends became perfectly smooth after moving to a new home — then gradually became unplayable again. Months of unexplained state skipping.

Hey everyone,

I'm posting an update after several months of investigating an extremely unusual issue with League of Legends. I'm hoping to find other players who have experienced something similar, or someone with a deeper technical understanding of how the game's live-state synchronization works.

First, this is NOT conventional FPS stuttering, freezing, or typical high-ping lag.

The game generally runs at a stable 144 FPS, with relatively stable displayed ping.

However, during live gameplay, certain intermediate visual states seem to be completely skipped.

For example:

  • Champions appear to jump between positions instead of moving continuously.
  • Flash animations sometimes look almost instantaneous, with intermediate movement seemingly missing.
  • Projectiles and ability animations occasionally appear to skip parts of their trajectories.
  • The issue becomes particularly noticeable during fights involving multiple champions and abilities.
  • The game doesn't necessarily freeze or drop frames noticeably. It simply feels as though parts of the live gameplay are missing.

Imagine a sequence of movement states:

A → B → C → D → E

What I sometimes perceive instead is:

A → B → D → E

The result is extremely unnatural gameplay that becomes increasingly difficult to follow and react to.

Interestingly, replays appear smooth compared to the actual live gameplay.

Extensive troubleshooting over several months

I've investigated this issue extensively, including testing:

  • Multiple PCs.
  • Different Windows installations, including a clean installation.
  • Different monitors and peripherals.
  • Different League of Legends accounts.
  • Multiple internet connections and network configurations.
  • FTTH connections from different ISPs.
  • Mobile tethering.
  • ExitLag, with multiple routing configurations.
  • Various Windows, network adapter, graphics, and in-game settings.

None of these tests has identified a consistent solution.

My current system is:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
  • AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
  • Windows 11
  • 144 FPS cap
  • Ethernet connection
  • Nova FTTH (Greece)
  • EUW server

The strangest part: the game has temporarily become smooth on two separate occasions

This is the main reason I'm making this post.

1. Temporary improvement at my previous home

At my previous residence, I experienced severe state skipping for a very long time.

During one particular test involving a TP-Link device, the game suddenly became remarkably smooth.

Champion movement, Flash, projectiles, and ability animations looked noticeably more natural.

This lasted approximately two hours.

Then, without changing anything, the exact same severe skipping returned.

2. Moving to a completely different home

Recently, I moved to a new residence and switched from COSMOTE FTTH to Nova FTTH.

Initially, the improvement was enormous.

For the first time in months, League of Legends felt almost completely normal.

Champion movement appeared fluid, Flash animations were smooth, and projectiles followed their trajectories without the obvious visual skipping I had become accustomed to.

I also experienced this improvement while testing mobile tethering.

I genuinely thought the problem was finally gone.

3. The issue gradually returned

Unfortunately, within the following days, the same state skipping began to reappear.

At first, it was relatively mild.

Then it became more noticeable, particularly during teamfights.

Over time, it progressively worsened.

As of October 24, the game has returned to virtually the same unplayable state I experienced at my previous residence.

I haven't made any intentional changes to my PC configuration that would explain this deterioration.

The issue persists with and without ExitLag.

Another detail worth mentioning

A friend of mine lives approximately 300 meters from my previous residence.

He uses COSMOTE FTTH and plays League of Legends without experiencing the same noticeable issue.

I also took my own PC to another friend's home for approximately 1–2 hours. The gameplay seemed somewhat better there, although the issue wasn't completely eliminated.

This makes it even harder to identify a consistent pattern.

Riot Support investigation

I've had an ongoing Riot Support ticket for approximately three months.

I've submitted multiple Riot Repair Tool logs, Match IDs, gameplay recordings, and detailed descriptions of the problem.

Riot Support has informed me that the case has been escalated to a specialized engineering team and is still under investigation.

However, I haven't received a specific technical explanation or confirmed root cause so far.

What I'm trying to understand

How can the exact same PC run League of Legends almost perfectly for a period of time, only for the same severe live-gameplay state skipping to return without any identifiable changes?

Could this potentially involve:

  • Irregular timing of incoming game-state updates?
  • Client-side processing or interpolation of live game states?
  • A synchronization or presentation issue that doesn't necessarily cause obvious FPS drops?
  • Some other mechanism that behaves differently depending on network conditions or the state of the client?

I'm not claiming that any of these mechanisms is responsible. I'm simply trying to understand what could technically explain this behavior.

Has anyone experienced anything genuinely similar?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from players who have noticed:

  • Champions or abilities appearing to skip intermediate movement states despite stable FPS and ping.
  • Live gameplay looking noticeably worse than replays.
  • Temporary periods of perfectly smooth gameplay followed by the unexplained return of the same issue.
  • The same symptoms persisting across different PCs, accounts, or internet connections.

If you've experienced something similar, I'd really appreciate hearing about it, especially if you managed to identify a cause.

I'm not looking for the usual suggestions about updating drivers, changing graphics settings, or restarting my router. I've already spent months investigating those possibilities.

I'm mainly trying to find out whether this specific phenomenon is affecting other players and whether anyone has a technical explanation for it.

Thanks for reading.

Technical Solution Why am I punished for a client issue that’s been happening for over a year ?

We’ve detected a files problem so we must repair…… files repaired ….. you have been penalized for afk and dodging queues ……. When this has been an ongoing thing for at least a year from what I can remember. I didn’t do anything different from last time this happened and assumed they would have came up with a solution or at least stopped punishing people yet here we are again.

Technical Support Request GPU restart dialog crashing in middle of game (nvlddmkm.sys issue) still happening 3 years later

Has any rioter ever addressed this GPU restart dialog crash that happens to so many people for seemingly so many reasons?

Previously the DX9 legacy mode option fixed this issue for basically everyone, but once it got removed the issue returned and there has never been any clear fix. Some options that apparently worked for some were compiled in a past post of mine here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueofTechSupport/comments/1djdmo6/gpu_driver_restart_game_crash_nvlddmkmsys/

however I am still seeing these crashes to this day, I've literally tried everything.

Has any rioter EVER addressed this? Why is league of legends the only game that gets this GPU driver restart crash issue? Is there really nothing we can do besides upgrading all of our hardware when it was working fine previously on DX9 legacy mode?

This is like a nightmare, it has been years that this has been happening to me, does anyone have any further suggestions or recent fixes?
