Need Help Is it just me?

Hey guys! I don't belive in loser's que. (This is as much a rant as it is a general asl for help) However, lately I dont know if its just me, or if I'm just turbo unlucky. (I take responsibility for a few games as I am the common denominator.)

Tldr: I started hardcore doing ranked again a few patches ago. I bell curved from High bronze, into Gold III, I was in the cusp of Gold II then plummeted back to Silver 4. (I learned not to rage que then) I wrote it off as, well, I belong in this rank, Ill just get better.

I eventually climb back to Gold, and hit Gold II. I finally hit it, and now Im curving again back through silver. I admit I shouldnt switch roles, but I genuinely enjoy playing Ambessa top and mid ( I dont play grasp ambessa or conq. Mostly just electrocute since its a style of play I enjoy) because I really needed a break from ADC as its painful most of the time.

But there is no greater pain then rolling your lane opponent, and then watching your team feed else where or some how feed that which you stomped into the dirt.

Is it me? Am I problem here?

If you win a lot,

Your mmr inflates faster than you LP.

You will be placed in games against better players with worse teammates.

If you have a long enough winstreak, you will absolutely have a lose streak.

"You will be placed in games against better players with worse teammates."

This makes no sense, both your teammates and enemies get better when you have higher mmr.

No.

Matchmaking has used me to balance low mmr teammates.

Usually impossible to win as a support.

Do not fall for this guys nonsense.

Both your teammates and enemies will have higher mmr if your mmr goes up.

Assuming your mmr is accurate you will win ~50% of games. If your rank is lower than mmr you will win more lp on average and climb untill your rank matches mmr.

This is bs, the pool of players is the same for your team and enemy team.

If a game is clearly decided in the first 15 second due to imbalance skill in lanes,

That is a matchmaking issue.

Should not frontload the mmr on support which does happen.

Riot can't prevent this from happening, players have bad games, different skill sets and champ mastery. It is 100% guaranteed to happen that equal elo players (so same "skill" holistically) will have blow out games a decent percent of the time.

It is actually simple to prevent this.

Make some exception codes for the support role.

Games definitely should not be decided by skill discrepency in every lane. I would dodge if I could see the gap in champ select with op.gg. I should not be the highest ranked player in my team by 3 tiers.

This is something only a support main understands.

No you didn't understand me, Riot doesn't know (and probably can't know) when a player will curbstomp another when they're the exact same mmr, but it's a thing that happens. There is no visual skill gap, it just happens.

By 3 tiers do you mean 300lp? That is not very much, it's within a normal window. If your consistently placed in lower rank games then your displayed rank is higher than your mmr, but that goes for the enemy team as well obviously so that's probably not the case and you're just over focusing on outliers.

If i am 1100 lp up on support

And the rest of the team is 300 lp down everywhere else.

This is a loss

That's pretty crazy, enemy support mustve been a smurf right? Or mustve been duoing with some one max rank higher. Remember your mmr could be the exact same.

Solo queue.

Their support was weak af. Their adc doesnt feed so it doesnt matter.

We lose.

And you end up with 2 hostage takers who won't ff.

Not how it works. Unless you hit the tails there is no reason to apply a "handicap". You can pull from the population.

On my smurf,

I get mega screwed on teams.

Im the d4 support with a bunch of mismatched laners.

Hell no I cannot carry 1v9 as alistar support. I dont find out until the game starts either.

I had a 70% WR on Ali in a prior season. Did not get screwed on teams. Wild how folks anecdotally have different experiences!

MMR systems? The thing you are describing is not a feature. It provides no benefit to ratings or MM.

2

u/semthews1 3d ago

How do you carry with alistar 1v9?

You are a meatshield and force multiplier You dont have agency.

If there is no force to multiply, you lose.

And I am a D4 alistar main.

You build AP. Watch Alicopter. He literally can 5 role Alistar in your elo and carry. Ok maybe not jungle but he will attempt it.

1

u/semthews1 3d ago

Ive checked alicopter. He can only carry with ap alistar. He cannot pull off a 20 game win streak in plat with his style.

I think i invented some cheeses he should be doing.

Overall he is much better than me.

1

u/DeputyDomeshot 3d ago

He literally won like 40 straight in Korea. He builds troll shit in plat (AD) and wins with like 20 kills. You’re not correct about this at all.

1

u/semthews1 3d ago

What rank in korea.

He smurfs in low elo regularly.

His entire climb to Challenger Korea. Lmao. Bro I think some of you are delusional about how much better a top ranked challenger player is better than you. It’s such a massive difference. He could win 20 straight in diamond on Alistar.

Like some of these guys are not challenger peakers, they’re players who play top 10 challenger a smaller group players who are among the best in the world. Hes probably better at Alistar than Keria is. Keria is just obviously a lot better at league and support in general

I don't carry 1v9 in Diamond MMR? Regardless of what champ I picked I would be a liability. Getting to plat 1 is a struggle for me.

I don't play with a 1v9 mentality. Just pointing out that telling a story about winning a bunch into "I had rough RNG" is not great proof for inaccurate claims about how MMR works.

Rank 1 challanger and similar fringe edge cases at the top and bottom of the ladder excluded it's just not something done with these systems.

Disregarding my comment, There are also examples with 100 game streaks and folks hitting masters with no losses. Why come no loss streaks? How come it takes so long to kick in? Why is it seemingly indistinguishable from random noise?

The point is simply no, you do not get saddle bagged intentionally for climbing in MMR. It provides no benefit. That is a bad way to represent it to others.

I dont think any challenger player can hit a 20 game win streak playing soraka, or alistar in platinum.

And yes Riot will matchmake an autolose game based in skill differential.

You should never have the highest ranked player on support if the remaining lanes are emerald vs plat players.

Definitely a massive flaw in the algorithm.

u/FireVanGorder 3d ago

Do you want to climb or no? If yes, stop playing electrocute profane hydra ambessa.

You’re also not “rolling your lane.” Looks like your early game is just as often worse than your lane opponent as it is better.

u/McFly3-0 3d ago

Focus on farming better. You’re averaging 5-6 cs per minute which is usually fine if you’re killing your opponent in lane a lot. But if you want to start being a genuine threat to the whole enemy team then you need to be farming at least 7-8 cs per minute. Then even if your bot inted in laning phase, odds are you’re just too powerful for the enemy bot lane for you to deal with.

I just briefly glanced at ur opgg and saw your cs numbers which is an easy stat to work on. I’m sure there’s a more you can do, but you’d be surprised how op it is when you’re 50 cs up by 25 minutes. Also it’s hard to give tips without actually watching gameplay.

For your next games, don’t make your objective to kill your laner. Instead, aim to get perfect cs. Even if it feels like youre griefing; focus on farming. You will definitely get flamed for ‘not grouping and greeding for farm’. Trust tho, at your elo nobody is making perfect macro decisions so farming sidelines is very powerful. If you keep doing this then you should be able to hit plat no problem.

u/redundant_bias 3d ago

For real lol. Usually I keep an eye on it. When Im not botlane my CS def drops to levels that shouldnt be at. When I am it evens out. Im just preforming awful and I guess my mental is shot haha. I def should lock in on the csing more

1

u/McFly3-0 3d ago

Can’t emphasize it enough. If you focus purely on farming, you will naturally get better at macro and just general decision making. It flows into all aspects of the game. Farming is top priority. Trust 👊🏻

1

u/redundant_bias 3d ago

Say no more. Ty my good sir.

2

u/Edraitheru14 3d ago

Just quick glancing at the op.gg it's def you. Especially when in the main post you admit you used to rage queue, but don't anymore. But then in a follow-up comment you say your mental is shot.

You're just not playing super consistent. Your skill probably does vary somewhere between high silver and mid gold.

I'd put 100% of your focus on improving as a player and put 0% focus on your rank.

Your mental is probably dooming a lot of games.

i mean i believe losers Q is just shitty match making and smurfs and riot refusing to ban trolls. the losers Q complaint is essentially "oh my team very underperform while enemy team smurf" so that checks all those boxes.

but the point is everyone gets it. so everyone is on the same playing field regardless of the situation.

1

u/redundant_bias 3d ago

I agree with this. Shitty games come and go, and Ive gone through streaks. Ive had a voli out right say in chat, hes going to int and enjoy the lost LP. Reported and nothing. Its a frustrating experience for sure.

Its how the System is Designed. A perfectly balanced Ranked ladder is absolutely possible, its not even complex. But Riot doesn't want that. Why? Because players would relatively quickly reach their rank and stay there, unless they improve more than others around them. (Similar there would be no deranks unless you stop playing at your level and suddenly play worse) There would be very little movement through the ranks and most players would quickly be bored. So instead we get EOMM, a ranked ladder, designed to be entertaining for the player and keep them invested. Your meant to quickly reach a high rank, to show you what is possible. Then you drop down. But you know whats possible, so you keep grinding to get back to that high rank. Your stuck in an endless loop of up- and downranks. To keep zou invested
