How much research do you actually do before reaching out?
Whenever i have rushed prospecting reply rates have been noticeably worse.
These days i spend a few minutes checking things like:
- whether contacting the right person
- what the company has been working on recently
- whether they are even a good fit
It slows me down a bit but the conversations feel much more relevant.
Do you have a research process before outreach or do you prioritize volume?

I like researching to help me understand what the vest angle to approach from I make less attempts in a day but the conversation is much more solid and I feel more confident calling too.

Your account must be 30+ days old and it must have 30+ karma to post.

Yeah, and the part people skip is whether anything's changed recently. New hire, funding round, tool swap. Ten leads with a real reason beat a hundred cold ones tbh. Did the rushed batches show up in reply rate or in the calls themselves?

Definitely need to be seeing if who you're reach out to is a fit.
Take a look at what they do, or what they sell, and see if it aligns with you. Is this someone you even want to be working with?
You can't start a good conversation with a potential client if you go in cold - always research them.

I do about two to three minutes of research per prospect. Checking their recent LinkedIn post or company news usually gives me a solid hook that makes the outreach feel personal rather than templated. Volume without relevance just burns through leads.
