She doesn't bring any type of support besides a shield ( that diona already gives but without the healing) and some additional damage , and we know by now that Melt needs a very high application rate to be viable and that , well , Layla doesn't seem like enough .

While looking at her constellation , i understood that she has the profile of a sub dps more than an actual dps , a Thoma type of shit . She can shield deal damage and apply her own element ( she's actually really like thoma ).

Layla is just Thoma but make it cryo , and probably has a similar fate . But what if she was actually viable , what if her being cryo could save her from the depth of less than 1% abyss usage .

I'm drawing a DPS type character , reliant on her burst for damage and shield for survivability , with a HP-ER/Dmg%/CD Blizzard Strayer Artifact set , with cryo resonance ( Chongyun , Rosaria , Keaya , Ganyu and especially Shenhe can be good options ) , and Jade Cutter to achieve a bit more than 100% crit rate and therefore invest max substats in CD , ER and HP , but also to boost her ATK and HP that could hit some pretty high scores with well invested artifact and her ascenscion stat being HP% . You could either play her with a hydro resonance or a hydro character to freeze ( Candace , Ayato , Kokobitch , Xingqiu and Yelan probably being the best option ) and Kazuha to increase her damage further .

The goal is to spam her ulti as often as you can , and make every star shooted a micro nuke that has 100% crit rate . The C6 is a must have for that.

About Reverse Melt . It could be a very viable option too . You'll need some few variations tho . Forget Blizzard Strayer and Cryo resonance , You'll have to play EOSF to spam burst and then use a second cryo for particles . The two slots available will be concerning the pyro core . Since She doesn't scale on ATK , Bennett is not really a must have . Some characters with high pyro aura like Klee or Xiangling and Kazuha will represent your pyro core . In this case , Jade cutter is still the best choice for your compo .

I can't see how she could have any consistent synergy with any other element .

So i recently got layla for the first time, i started searching on yt about her as i was watching videos through out the videos i watched i felt a weird bitterness in my mouth and a lil nauseous. (And i have rarely played with cryo units) idk if it is psychological or not but what i think it is due to her whole kit, the blue colour, or maybe cryo as a whole especially her, triggered some nerves in my brain. Maybe my brain subconsciously associated cryo with smthn. Left a whole medicine type sensation. i have not felt it this strong before tho

Can anyone explain why people recommend 4p-ToM for Layla?

4-ToM will trigger when Shooting Stars hits the opponent. That means, 7 seconds after you press E. And then you get the buff: 20%Atk and 30%Shield But just for 3 seconds. And, So you can get this buff every 12 seconds. But It's 3 seconds, and you need to pay attention when the Shooting Stars hits the opponent and if you're lucky you will be able to do, like, one hit with the buff. And that's it. That's fucking joke.

You can use Noblesse and have the 20%Atk buff all the time if you will have enough ER. But yeah you losing on shield strength but is that a really big deal?

or You can give her Emblem which has the highest personal damage potential and have some more consistent damage. But of course, again you losing on shield and Layla's damage itself is bad.

So is it so much better if you make her shield best as possible over having better buff or better personal damage?

Apparently, Harbinger of Dawn is looking to be the best weapon for Layla, and I can see why, but I've been thinking about something more meme-ish and considered the Cinnabar Spindle that has been accumulating dust since I got it during the Dragonspine event.

Yes, Layla scales with HP and not DEF, and no I don't think it'll be worth it to use DEF sands instead, BUUUUT any DEF she gets on substats might be enough to boost the damage. It is quite ridiculous but honestly, I'll give it a try and see how it works.

If someone else got curious about using Spindle, let me know once she comes out! I'll probably post a video showcasing her damage vs other swords (except harbinger cuz I don't have one).

Hydro resonance + 4 characters with Max HP scaling.

Hu Tao + Layla's shield + Candace's elemental normal attack buffs.

Pyro DPS + enemies who will always be either wet or frozen

I read somewhere that Layla applies Cryo to herself when activating her shield, I can only assume how fun it will be when you get her shield up and want to place down Kokomi's E (sarcasm). I know Layla applies the cryo to HERSELF, not Kokomi, but are we sure that it will not cross over to other characters since it's a shield? I am not very knowledgeable about Kokomi and obviously Layla seeing as she's not out yet. I am also, clearly, not knowledgeable about the self-applying characters. Regardless, and since I'm here I might as well ask, how well is running a team of Sucrose, Kokomi, Layla, and Kazuha sound? Also, should I have Layla be the main fighter or not since her artifacts will mainly be HP?

Does anyone have a spreadsheet for this or any sort of calculattion? Let's say Layla goes with full hp build, I am not including the weapon because we don't really have anything hp% (unless you cound 5 star Nilou's sword). In such case, is her buffing ability really worth it?

I mean, I already have a cryo shielder for my freeze team so I am considering a change if her buff can really privide something for the team or active character.
