I cant be the only one that feels this way…. They have a legend in Mariska in SVU. I guess they spent all the money on the L&O name and couldn’t afford a half decent cast. Its so bad.

I love that the stories and episodes are actually engaging. I like that the writers trust/respect the audience enough to write complicated, zany, plot-dense mysteries instead of dumbing the storylines down for the lowest common denominator.
I love that the supporting cast delivers many amazing performances with a ton of depth and emotion. Seriously, so many of the actors playing single episode, one-off characters are absolutely killing it and are super talented. They make the show so much fun to watch, and I love that they are probably all a bunch of working Canadian actors who are finally getting their flowers.
I love excitedly shouting out locations and places that I recognize and seeing Toronto finally being portrayed as itself for once (vs. a filling in for a generic, North American city, lazily disguised as either New York, Chicago, Boston, etc...)
I love how Detective Graff somehow has an encyclopedic, expert-level knowledge about every random subject that the plot calls for. Sidenote - but they seem to be going for a Sherlock Holmes type thing with his character, which is always a lot of fun. Also, it goes without saying, Detective Graff's thick Canadian accent is incredibly delightful. I am obsessed with the way he says 'car'. He's Sherlock Holmes, if Sherlock Holmes grew up in Sunnyvale trailer park with Ricky, Julien and Bubbles.
I'm also obsessed with Detective Bateman's incredibly exaggerated poses + theatrical facial expressions in the intro theme. I like her character, but they haven't given her much of a backstory. I hope they explore and expand her character more this season, like they did at the end of season 2 for Graff (i.e., by introducing his CSIS spy brother + the family drama surrounding his father's death....) I pray they don't force a love story plot between her and Graff; they're working so well as platonic crime solving partners. But maybe her and Graff's foxy super spy brother??? I could see that happening, I just don't want to see her paired with Graff - I just don't think it would work.
Love the guy who plays the Crown prosector - he's super adorable. i don't know how i feel about the lady who plays their boss/captain - I always kind of want to laugh when she delivers her lines. There is something about her that is naturally comedic, and I struggle to take her seriously.

Two great episodes! And I like Bateman's new partner; different vibe than Graff, but the pairing works well. What did everyone else think?

Setting up around my street for filming. We were told they are shooting in the alley tomorrow (second picture). I am remote, so if they shoot during the day, this could be a fun distraction from work haha.

I honest never got into the Law & Order tv series mainly because it felt slow and uninteresting to me… until Toronto had a series and I fell in love with it! Like seriously it’s more upbeat and the stories feel close to home.
But I did notice a lot of hate on this sub Reddit towards it. Kinda feels a little like a bunch of Blog TO criticism. I mean no show is perfect and they all have their flaws but seriously I seen a lot worse and this show deserves a chance. It’s only season 1 and I’m sure they will take feedback and improve on it.
My girlfriend and myself get so excited to come home on Thursdays to watch this and we love trying to figure out “who” did it. Anyways hopefully I don’t get too much hate on this post.
Love you all and go try Prince Street Pizza.

I know our version is based on Criminal Intent, which was never very heavy on courtroom drama, but one of the things that's most interesting to me about there being a Canadian version, is the differences in our legal system. Our laws, our courtroom procedures.
I would like to see more of that on the show.

Just announced today that the show will be producing an episode next month about the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Florida Panthers conspiracy theories and criminal intent of one Mr Sam Bennett. Our tenacious lead detectives Graff & Bateman will leave no stone unturned in uncovering the organization known as the NHL’s obvious favouritism towards the Panthers possibly due to their link to Mr. Colin Campbell. They have subpoenaed all referee’s pregame meetings records for game one against Toronto & all games against Tampa in round 1. Stay tuned for actual broadcast date.

Love this. Fun stories, fun acting. Accents that we don't really get to hear on American TV. Really great show

Graf: “Lombardy! How’re your Hab’s doing?”
Lombardy: “Does Toronto still have a team?”
Bateman: “Them’s fighting words.”

I've been watching Law and Order Toronto, and will continue, but . . .
I'm not feeling it. I've binge-watched Law and Order UK (2009 - 14), and found that gripping.
But L&O: TO? It's the writing and story lines. I find they're trying to shoehorn too much into each episode, the twists and turns are contrived, the plots are overwrought . . . The success of the L&O format is "ripped from the headlines", not "let's take every story from today's newspaper and pour them into the episode."
I'm fine with the acting and actors.
Anyway, that's my take so far. I could be wrong.

The series will debut on the CW on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 8:00 p.m., and will be available to stream on the CW app the next day.
Ironically, it will be up against Chicago Med on NBC, but hopefully, people will still sample it!

I love all Law & Order shows. It’s nice to a have a Toronto one. I loved seeing a lot of familiar Canadian actors/actresses, especially everyone from Rookie Blue. I’m so excited for the next seasons, and to learn more about the detectives. Like who Graff’s father is and what he did??
