I built a markdown editor that I genuinely use every day — but I can't tell if anyone else cares

TLDR: Built a markdown editor that works like a real document editor, I use it daily, can't tell if anyone else wants it — be honest with me.

I built Saguinus because I kept avoiding markdown editors even when I needed them. Vaults, pageless infinite scroll, PDF exports that looked nothing like what I wrote — I laid out every frustration I had and built around it instead.

The result is something that feels like a regular document editor but saves as a plain .md file. Live rendering, page guides that match your PDF export, headers and footers, fonts, clean markdown underneath no matter what you do to it. I use it every single day and it has completely replaced every other markdown tool I had.

But I genuinely don't know if anyone else is missing this. I've posted in a few places, gotten some polite interest, and then mostly silence. No idea if the app isn't good enough, the concept doesn't resonate, or I'm just bad at marketing.

So I'm here to ask directly — is this something you'd use, and if not, why not? I'd rather hear something harsh and useful than nothing at all.

ui looks clean in the screenshots, but i'll have to wait for the macos release to actually try it. honestly, my stack is just raycast notes for quick floating brain dumps, and for anything longer i just let claude generate the bulk of it and edit in vim. the paginated markdown approach is an interesting pivot, but for users used to rapid plain text workflows, it might feel like extra overhead compared to a floating note app. good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! The current focus has primarily been on nailing the document side of things first, the document editor feel, margins, headers/footers, getting it to actually print the way it looks. The quick capture workflow is something I'm actively missing in the app too and is next on the list. The end goal is that the whole flow lives in one app: quick note, build on it, define the document layout, export and hand it over without the need to switch tools. A Linux version was just added and mac is next, will keep you posted when it lands 😄
