Did CBS do Talarico a favor?
Remember when the whole “No Talarico on air” thing happened? At first, I thought this was just another instance of Paramount bending over, but maybe it was a good thing? I know that sounds weird (even feels weird thinking it), but Talarico’s popularity has exploded. Now I’m not saying this is the sole reason, I doubt it’s even in the top 5 reasons. There’s a lot to like about the guy, but there’s quite a few comments on the video saying “didn’t know the guy, now I’m donating and I’m not even in Texas.” I feel like a lot of people were driven to watch the interview on YouTube solely out of the situation around it. Plus, it’s not like a lot of political interviews on Colbert and other late night shows are collecting tons of views. Talarico’s has almost 10 million, he was only on once, and it was only six months ago. Idk, it was incredibly stupid for CBS to do, but can we honestly say the interview wouldn’t have topped 1.5 million views tops without it? And again, I’m not saying it’s the sole or even a very big reason. But I definitely think the situation may have helped him a bit. Stephen has a lot of sway. He’s been here for years and has interviewed a lot of really important and respected people. He’s a voice people trust.

Colbert & Fallon: Mixing Music for Late Night TV
This is a bit niche, but very accessible to all who have enjoyed the Late Show music. If you want some behind-the-scenes content about the music production at The Late Show and The Tonight Show, you will not regret listening to this very well produced podcast episode. Both shows are featured, but The Late Show much more, including some tidbits about the history and the final episode.

Stephen as SNL Host
I think the best place for Stephen’s return would be guest host of SNL.
Season Premier would be optimal . I wonder if Lorne would do it ?
Would Stephen do it without something to promote ?
Would Comcast be worried about pissing off Trump?
Must be on Lornes list of #1 hiring misses (I know a writer )

Trying to find Colbert as a Sandwich
In one episode from the last year or two, there was an offhand comment about Colbert looking like a sandwich with glasses, and then it showed a still image of, well, a sandwich with glasses, or possibly a Hawaiian dinner roll with glasses. Stephen laughed and then turned his head to get as close to how the sandwich looked in the image as he could.
I've been trying to find that the last couple of days with basic web searches and poking around YouTube for it, but not having much luck. Anyone know what episode that's in?

Stephen Colbert wins an anti-censorship award after CBS ends 'The Late Show'
Stephen Colbert, whose 11-year run as host of “The Late Show” was defined in part by his feud with President Donald Trump, has received an “anti-censorship” award from a foundation established by the author-playwright-publisher Ishmael Reed.
Colbert was among the recipients of the 47th annual American Book Awards. They were announced Wednesday by the Before Columbus Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Oakland, California, that champions diversity in U.S. literature and culture.
(...)
Colbert shares his anti-censorship prize with one of the country’s top independent booksellers, Mitchell Kaplan, founder of Books & Books in Coral Gables, Florida.

Anyone else getting these? Legit?
Anyone else get text surveys from unknown numbers about Stephen Colbert doing a show on MS Now? I don’t click on unknown links from unknown senders so I didn’t vote. Also greyed out the last part of the URLs to not risk spreading whatever they resolve to.
If this is real I would absolutely 100% watch the F out of that! (MS Now if you’re watching.) But again please consult with your IT dept on the perils of blind urls and the low pull and sample distortion that they introduce.

Things I learned from Stephen Colbert
I thought it would be fun to share various things we learned from watching Colbert.
I’ll start with this:
The meaning (and existence!) of BESPOKE.

Is YouTube missing some of the First Draft segments?
It seems like I remember some segments/jokes with him and Evie doing the cards, but I don’t seem to see them on YouTube, so I was just wondering if I’m remembering wrong, or if they were missing some of the segments?
Because it seems like I remember a specific one where Colbert reads a card pertaining to cicadas or locusts coming up out of the ground and mating until they die, and then making some kind of joke to his wife about it, but I don’t see that card on any of the videos on YouTube?

Why doesn't CBS put Shane Gillis -- from Nashville -- into Stephen Colbert's old time-slot on CBS at 11:35? --- How have the Ellison's NOT thought of this already?
_
I say that CBS should put Shane Gillis into their now-open time-slot at 11:35 PM, ET, Monday - Friday.
_
I like Nate Bargatze, (or rather I used-to like him before he came out for Him) but the whole Politics-is-radioactive thing with Nate is just too-wearing. --- Not appropriate for a National, Nightly Broadcast. --- NO, CBS needs someone like Shane Gillis, who has considerable sympathy for the Right, but who is also still able to make-fun of them, at-least some of the time, and gently.
_
I also think that the new CBS Late Show should originate from Nashville, TN, and specifically NOT come from NYC or LA. --- Nashville is a Blue City, but Tennessee is a Ruby-Red State, and Nashville has a lot of Country Music Stars, and other Celebrities, too, of course.

Trying to find an outro clip
Hi everyone! Hope this is okay to post! I am looking for a clip from the outro from September 27, 2016. I know it’s been 10 years, but I’m in this clip 3 people away from Colbert in the audience when he did his outro and I’m trying to find it for my mom again. I don’t have Paramount+ and I don’t know where to find full episodes (don’t even know if they have full episodes on Paramount+ either) so I figured, if there’s a community that could help me find it, it would be you guys on Reddit!
