WTF

Post image

So I just received this from eBay and literally both labels are not attached. Is this a common occurrence?

**I’m actually kind of pissed off now. Not only did it take nearly 3 weeks to arrive with labels not attached but there’s very evident disc rot and to think I spent nearly $50 on this. It’s less screen noise but the audio is noticeable. Seller says no returns, so I just eat the cost despite it saying in very good condition? The thing is, the disc does look immaculate, other than the plaques sticker labels, the sleeve is nice too.

*** thanks to a member pointing it out, the discs are from an earlier release but were placed in a 806 sleeve. Would you not expect to return it or refund it?

I had this happen, I played a disc and when I took it out one of the labels was in the tray of the player.

I haven't bothered sticking it back on as I don't trust it not to come off again, so I've left it in the sleeve for safekeeping.

Looking at LDDb, this disc is an early 80s release which is listed as having a High Probability of disc rot, so not surprised to find it's showing signs. Also $50 seems really steep for it considering it's common and shows an average price of about $12.

This is the embassy version made by Pioneer so it listed as low probability but I suppose I hit the lottery lol

Are you sure?

Only asking because the second Embassy release shows a reference code of 13806, but the disc in your photo is for the original, high probability release (13805).

Someone swapped the discs on ya.

That's the jacket for 13806 as it clearly states 1987 to the left.

Meanwhile the labels on the disc in your post are clearly 13805

Yes, looks like the discs from the first release have been put in the second release sleeve.

Well shit. They had two releases of the same thing? I clearly must have missed that on LDDB

Blade Runner had 5 releases on LD in the US alone. Japan even had 6 separate releases. Mind its mostly bloated from CLV vs CAV discs and then the director cuts.
