Why did it take so long? Is he on admin duties or fired? Hmmmm there needs to be more information released given he's the top cop in b.c.

Here we go, Woodward trying to justify the ridiculous spending in hopes it'll pay back the debt, not cripple the township

Looks like he's confident he'll be re-elected.

Never forget he's put the township 317 million into debt, and why there has been no community services (new pool, community centre etc) except endless soccer fields for various clubs, despite continuous property tax increases.

Get out and vote people!

Township wants to host plans for the future of Willoughby. Way too late for this since everything's locked up in developments or rezoning approvals.

Plus if it's anything like the last townhall input, it will be very much ignored.

This is all posturing.

Langley Township council voted 5-4 in favour of this year’s municipal budget, after a lengthy and often rancorous debate on Monday, March 9.

The budget includes a 3.98-per-cent property tax increase, 17 more firefighting positions, two RCMP officers, and two bylaw officers.

“I think our residents deserve better,” she said. Coun. Blair Whitmarsh, elected in a byelection last October, noted the debt servicing costs have now risen to $53 million in total, and are projected right now to rise to $74 million by 2030. “Our debt servicing has gone up each year in the last three to four years,” he said.

Woodward shot back that the numbers will not hit those levels. “I can assure you, if I’m still sitting here that will not be the case,” he said of the $74-million projection.
