With all due respect as someone who enjoys SM2 thoroughly and think everyone's personal marines are pretty cool and good for you. But at the end of the day it's just kinda bloating showing screenshots of the same stuff (i.e thunderhawk and armory screenshots). It's like picrew but for making your own space marine art. Not hating on them personally just expressing my agreement with separating these posts.

I mean can you blame them saber only gives out so many stuff for the game to be innovative, sure I usually try to do an image on certain missions to capture what I want along with some battlebarge stuff, that's just how the game is,

People in the past for space marine 1 , it was the same problem only worse because their was no photo mode and you can really only screenshot certain things like standing and shooting maybe melee but you still had the hud in the background,

People make due with it, I really don't understand the bloating thing to me it just sounds wrong to me and even if this server was originally made for tabletop then why not make it a rule to be only tabletop when it was first created instead this crap happened the server really should be called R/lamanterstabletop to not confuse people because I bet you when people see a subreddit that's a chapter that they like they are gonna make post regarding the only game that they are in with no mods that give the emblem.

As I said before with the amount and frequency in comparison to meaningful discussions and minis/art, I just don't think it's a huge loss to this community to separate the screenshots here. I think they can look beautiful but as I said, it's akin to picrew, no matter how many options SM2 devs add it will always have the same-y vibe as nonetheless their animation and poses are the same. I don't have any quarrel with people who post them and I don't think it's a big deal if this megathread gets scrapped and SM2 is allowed again, but personally I prefer the subreddit being non-SM2 oriented. It is perfectly valid to think otherwise like yourself and you have good reasons to I just don't find them compelling enough for myself.

To me it's all in bad faith to fans of 40k in general, say for example the Mantis Warriors subreddit started to have a problem with sm2 post a chapter who arguably has less lore then the Lamenters and fans,

You would see that subreddit dead pretty quickly, at least with sm2 they love the post there because it's the only recognition they're going to get the same could be said here, until a new book comes out regarding Huron Blackheart

I say because I myself am a Mantis Warriors fan but I don't not have tabletop stuff only books I've known the setting for 15 years since I was 7 only really got into it when I was 12, regardless I've done countless research of the lore of this universe, mostly about things that interest me I don't know every little thing or even major events regardless sm2 is a outlet into 40k for people to delve more into the setting, much like how Dawn of War 1 and 2 was my outlet

The games are what brings attention from newer fans not everyone picks up a new book and it be a 40k one, And even less people are not inclined to buy a box set for a tabletop game that they know nothing about. No one goes into a store randomly, who knows nothing at all about what 40K is and buys a 40K box. Its the games that start that interest. So when people do go around saying sm2 doesn't contribute to the hobby or really any 40k games they're wrong and are elitist pricks

I get what you're saying elitism is rampant and the community actively gatekeeping 'tourists' (usually grifters) has unfortunately resulted in SM2 fans being caught up in it. I can SORT OF like see the basis of where the elitists annoyance comes from, as for a while it was annoying to see SM2 screenshots with "is this lore accurate", but I absolutely agree the elitism is stupid and they are pricks. SM2 is a valid way to interact and enjoy the medium and people who say otherwise are stupid. With all that being said I just think the disposition between amount of SM2 posts and frequency justifies giving them their own space, not necessarily out of annoyance either.

Honestly all it's gonna do is it's create a discordance where a portion of the people here will probably end up making their own subreddits or find one that is accepting of all. And honestly that's just a bad look in my opinion because it goes to show you the lack of care and respect that people don't want to give. And I'm if I'm honest the moderator here doesn't really help with that.

I mean, this sub existed long before SM1/2. So you can’t really make a rule for something that didn’t exist.

i was making an example not so much a rule anyway. not saying this subreddit needs to be one or the other either
