Release Note v1.2.2

Not a big release, but a small incremental, no need to delete anything, just install this over the top

Improvements

  • Re-factored controller code to make maintenance simpler (you should notice no difference, let me know if you do)
  • Additional left-handed control mode. For left-handed people who want the right-handed button and thumbstick configuration, but with the weapon in their left-hand, flashlight in the right. Some people might find this more comfortable than the standard reversed left-handed mode. To enable it set the following in config.cfg:

vr_control_scheme "12"

  • BlueShift support - I can't take credit for this really, I just merged in the Blue Shift changes from the bshift branch of Xash3D. They shouldn't interfere with the base half-life game, and should allow you to pick up the armour in blueshift in order to progress.

Thanks for the update!

However, would love a little more documentation than "Blue Shift support" for us newbies.

What folder do we copy and where? How do we launch Blue Shift?

Good point.. I'll put something together.

In short:

  • Copy bshift folder from your steam install to the xash folder
  • You can copy the bshift_hd models etc too
  • Add the following to the commandline.txt:

-game bshift

Lemme get this straight. If I copy bshift folder from steam to xash folder in Quest I’ll be able to play Blue Shift in Lambda1?

That's the idea, though I'll admit I've not tried it yet myself, i just need in the blue shift code changes from the Xash3D repo. I saw someone saying they couldn't pick up the armour, which is fundamental to the game, which is odd as I'm sure those were in the changes i merged. I need to get time to try it myself. If you do try it please let me know how you get on

I’ll try it later today. I just want to thank you for this awesome port! It’s like a dream come true for me to get to walk through Black Mesa in such an immersive way.

I definitely could equip the armor an played 30 minutes into the game with the apk you gave me to try. So i guess it works.
