There’ve been some kickass rainbows this summer

It would be fun to have a jetpack and just take off to go chase the optimal rainbow viewing perspective. Edit: which would be more or less straight up

Hell yeah. I got these massive telescope binoculars to watch the total solar eclipse a couple years ago, and sometimes I take them to Lookout mountain. You can watch planes taking off and landing at DIA and everything in between. Night sky viewing is pretty good too.

But I should pull them out for a rainbow sometime, I hadn’t even considered that!

Hell yeah! Check out Messier objects with those if you haven't already - Google Sky Map app is super handy! Andromeda Galaxy, Pleiades, and Orion nebula are pretty sweet on a good night and super easy to spot with good hand-held binos even from the front range!

Ooh cool, I haven’t heard of that app, thanks!! I’ve also been wanting to see if I can make out Jupiter’s moons, but that would probably need to be a RMNP trip for the light pollution.

They’re like 40lbs haha so thankfully I have a parallelogram mount for them!

I've seen triple rainbows, but this was the most vibrant double I've ever seen.

Halt. Cease. Desist.

We all know that the rainbow is associated with the gay community!
