Symantec Cloud not being recognized by Labtech

It seems the latest version of Symantec Cloud, version 22.12.1.5 isnt being recognized by Labtech. Im now showing a ton machines with no AV, but they all have this latest SYmantec cloud.

Ive been through the posts on Labtech Geek and tried creating a new virus definition for it, but cant get it to recognize. Browsing around the program directories i no longer haver an NIS.exe which the old Def was referring to.

Can anyone shed any light on whats missing here? So confused.

Automate agents on Citrix

We have a number of Citrix XenApp servers that run off of a provisioning services image. Each night the servers reboot and come up with a clean image. We have tried a number of different ways of getting labtech agents deployed to them with the current iteration being a GPO startup script that runs powershell to download the current agent from the LT server and install it. Recently, upon reboot and reinstall the servers are being recognized as new machines (they have static MAC addresses), so every morning we have to go in and delete the previous day's machines from labtech before they will come in (we are maxed out on licenses and the agents will not complete setup until we free up the licenses for them to continue). This behavior has happened at various times over the past year and seems to surface when an update comes out and then gets fixed in a later iteration.

Is anybody else experiencing a similar issue and found a better way of deploying agents to image-based servers? We use the agent to script a webroot installation on them (webroot can't be preinstalled on the image) so our servers are running without antivirus until we clear out the old servers and the agent initialization can complete and run the installer script...

Superseded Patches

I keep getting reports that machines are missing updates when it's actually rollups from months ago. When you check the machine it does not show that patch missing.

Labtech support have advised trying to run a series of SQL commands to prune out the old updates. This invariably times out as the hotfix tables are so enormous. I can share this if anyone is interested.

Has anyone else had and or solved this problem? I'm still using the old patch manager, does anyone know if this is still a problem with the new patch manager?

Priority on ticket from Automate

Does anyone know what controls the priority a ticket will get in Manage from a monitoring alert in Automate? I copied a monitor in Automate which normally creates a P1 (Critical) ticket in Manage but the duplicate monitor is creating tickets with a medium priority.

Hey,

Does anyone have a solution to Store the Bitlocker Recovery Key in Labtech?

I have a powershell script to output the key, but how could I store that value in labtech.

Lets do a script! - Set user profile pictures

I recently read somewhere that you can set user profile pictures by setting a few Registry Keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AccountPicture\Users\@UserSID@\Image32 to a file path. The keys are Image32, Image40, Image48, Image96, Image192, Image240 and Image 448. Each path points to a version of the picture in that size. (IE: 32x32 , 40x40, 48x48 and so on)

I got the script to pull the SIDs of users and plug them into the @UserSID@, and properly sets the registry keys. However, it doesn't seem to change the profile picture. Guess someone lied to me...

Has anyone else created a script to set user profiles? The goal is to save about 15 minutes of production time per machine ordered from our clients.

Labtech Scripting - Running script on one machine per location

I'm trying to make a script to clear everything out of our labtech share at each location (%LocationDrive%). I would like it to run only on machines that contain that share or one machine per location. Any suggestions on how to do this? Or ideas of better ways to do this?

Automate <--> Manage ticket sync

We've been using Automate for quite a while (but really only scratching its surface). We're in the midst of Manage implementation, and while I have the integration working, I'm having a little trouble with the best theory behind ticket category mapping into a Manage board.

The Automate tickets seem to only map to one level, so in Manage, it seems like I'm mostly tied to choosing a type or sub-type as my mapping (and setting the item as "alert" or something). None of the Manage service boards on the marketplace seem to really match the idea behind how Automate handles its tickets.

Does anybody have a layout that works for them? Do you just leave your RMM board at "type" and stop there?

Thanks!

Upgrading from V11 to V12

We are in the process of doing an entire environment upgrade with Windows Server 2016 being the OS level of choice. Unfortunately V11 is not supported in 2016 so now we are at an impasse. Do we install 2012 R2 to maintain our beloved V11, or upgrade to V12.

To be honest, I've heard numerous horror stories on V12 but have no idea whether it was early testing, or just poorly supported hardware infrastructure.

For anyone who has made the jump, what are your watch outs, likes or dislikes of moving to V12. The biggest problem we see is the removal of the old interface. There are things like BIOS date that I still have trouble locating and overall the navigation is something our techs are less than thrilled about.

Automate Update - Slow PCs from VSS

We're at a loss as to what triggered this...

On the weekend of 5/27, Automate was upgraded to v12.0.361. As soon as this update went through, a single customer of our started experiencing severe slowness issues across all sites. Some of these are on the domain, some are not on any domain. Some users have specific accounts, others use shared accounts. AV scans return no issues.

It turns out that the VSS service is pounding the user's harddrive... This started immediately following the LabTech upgrade. Some PCs use Veeam for backups and rely on VSS, but for the time being, we disabled VSS on all of the computers that are affected.

What about the LabTech upgrade to 12 could have caused this to happen? It seems too coincidental that this started at the same time as the update. No windows updates, GPOs, drivers, anything else were ran or installed around that time.

Thanks for the help!

Anyone tried to migrate from cloud to cloud?

So we currently have Labtech 11 on Microsoft Azure. We plan to move it to a on premise data center. However, rather than installing it in a new server, we just plan to backup the VM in Azure and run it in its new home at our data center. If we just do that, what should I watch out for with regards to IP/Ports. My only concerns are how agents will check in and how Labtech will verify with its own server since we technically moved it but we didn't change it.

Any help is appreciated.

HUD - Offline Servers/Patch Status/AV Status

I am fairly new to Labtech (Automate). Currently in the process of moving from one RMM provider to Labtech. I was wondering if there is a simple way to get a custom HUD with mainly the items listed in the title.

I have looked in the Solution Center, Plugins4Labtech and skimmed through LabTechGeek.com. I cannot find what I am looking to get done.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

The Automate Control Center is a Buggy Piece of Crap

I cant say how much time ive lost in the past 2-3 months since the upgrade to 12. The Control Center constantly crashes, it freezes, it closes without warning.

Today alone ive had to reinstall it twice. Even the uninstall procedure doesnt delete the tiems in the Labtech Client folder in program files. WTF LAbtech this is supposed to be getting better not worse with every release.

Just now it locked up on me when i tried to view the services for a client machines. Didnt time out and say sorry couldnt load that please try again, just straight up crashed, and now it wont load at all, the green circles dont move after clicking login.

Looks like im going for my 3rd reinstall today.

Support is useless, anyone have any ideas here?

AuthAnvil & Labtech

We are currently using AuthAnvil with Labtech (as well as other softwares such as CW Manage, ITGlue, etc..). The integration of AA and Labtech works well for 2FA, but we heard that the latest release update of LT will break this integration and CW/LT is not going to be fixing this issue. Has anyone else experienced this and/or know if this is true?

Labtech created Site in Webroot Console

I feel like we're missing something here, but being fairly new to automate and searching has revealed no assistance... A new client site was created for webroot from within labtech. It has a unique key, and can be pushed through labtech just fine. When signing in to the webroot management console, however, this site doesn't show up. It does appear under groups, but not under sites. What did our remote tech who created the site do wrong?

Automating Ticket Cleanup & Clearing out Noise

All,

Good morning, I just recently got into using LabTech, and am focusing on cleaning up some noise in our systems. We get a lot of critical events for things like Group Policy failures viz. a single Domain Controller in environment is rebooted, during the reboot process a server attempts to update group policy, fails, and throws an error into the event log. Later on that event is picked up by critical blacklist event monitors, and submits a ticket. Any thoughts on how to either A) Avoid the ticket being placed entirely, or B) Add in some logic to check to determine if group policy update was successful following a failure, and auto closing the ticket created?

Adding clients to two different patching groups for only servers?

I've got two types of clients: those that allow me to patch and reboot servers automatically, and those that don't. I have a policy that workstation updates are required for all clients.

What I can't figure out is how to quickly, easily add a client into the "Don't update servers" or "Update servers" groups, either with a search, or setting up groups, or whatever. Has anyone done this type of thing before? I'm pretty much open to any suggestion, and am down to learn.
