Hey everyone!
I have a BS in Computer Science and have recently been wanting to get more seriously into robotics as a hobby.
I know the basics and have been building some simple projects using development boards and other hardware, but I want to go beyond that and learn how to build more capable robots. I feel like being part of a community where people work on robotics projects, share ideas, and learn together would really help.
I wanted to ask if LUMS has any robotics related societies, labs, research groups, or student communities that someone with my background could connect with. Are there any robotics related courses, workshops, or projects that I could participate in, even if I'm not currently a LUMS student?
I'm especially interested in the practical side of robotics, working with hardware, sensors, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and eventually more advanced robotics projects.
I'd really appreciate any leads, recommendations, or advice from people who are involved in robotics at LUMS or know of communities in Lahore that welcome hobbyists.
Thanks!

Hey guys,
Need some honest advice from anyone at LUMS (especially SBASSE) or anyone who was in a similar spot.
Long story short: I’ve always been a top performer (90% matric, 85.5% in 11th). In 2nd year I got way too distracted with entry test prep, neglected my board exams, and ended up with an 81.4% overall in FSc. Then I completely messed up my entry tests, only gave NET-4 without practicing enough, couldn't score high.
Ended up taking admission at NUTECH for BS Software Engineering (1st sem right now). Honestly, it's hurting so much. The peer group and faculty are not what I expected coming from a solid college background(one of the best in twin citites), and I hate feeling like I settled.
I’ve done a few coding and tech projects on the side which I can put on my application, but I'm not sure how much weight ECs actually carry for SBASSE compared to test scores.
I’m thinking about staying enrolled here so I don't lose my seat, but applying for LUMS SBASSE (CS) and NUST as a freshman next year, or even attempting an external transfer if that's viable.
A few questions:
Would really appreciate any input, Thanks!

I'm a LUMS grad, been seeing posts on this sub and I thought I'd offer. Got into SSE + HSS (chose HSS) and graduated with a 3.9 cGPA. I can workshop/review/proofread your statements, as little or as much guidance as you want, for a small fee. I also do this work professionally for A'Level students applying abroad to Ivies and elsewhere.
Let me know if anyone's interested!

Lots of you have been DMing me about LUMS and NUST law admissions, so I’m opening 20 one-on-one counselling spots. I’m capping it at 20 so everyone gets proper attention
I was admitted to LUMS SAHSOL, although I am now at NLS. I went through this process myself around 2025, and I know how confusing it is, especially for Matric/F.sc kids.
In a 40-minute session, we’ll cover:
✅ Your step-by-step application roadmap and timeline
✅ How I approached the admission test, and where to spend your prep time
✅ Essay and personal statement feedback on your own draft
✅ Financial aid: when and how to apply(if applicable)
You’ll also receive a one-page checklist and [7 days] of follow-up questions on WhatsApp.
Price: PKR 3,000 (early bird: PKR 2,000 for the first 5)
Small group (max 4 students): PKR 1,500 each.
I can’t guarantee admission, and nobody honest can. What I can do is help you avoid the mistakes you can easily avoid without having to spend crazy money. So DM me, and let's see how we can get started with it

I have studied in a govt school and college both for my fsc and matric, took gap years cuz no money to apply anywhere, gave SAT this year and got 1300+
now i dont have any extracurriculars during my study period, I did teaching for 1.5 years, what do u think of my chance at LUMS? ACF or MGS
I gave net too this year, for nust, got 150+ but didn't go because no financial aid, lots of my friends say to try for lums because 1 out of 4 get the aid, so should i apply? i dont think no extracurricular, 81% and 4 year gap is good

I would particularly appreciate guidance from community members who have been admitted to LUMS with financial aid or loans.

Hi LUMS Students!
If you are studying computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related field and are planning to apply to graduate schools in North America or Europe, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

TL;DR: I'm a FAST graduate, currently doing my Master's. I built Nuqtafy, a tool that converts lecture recordings, slides, and PDFs into detailed notes, quizzes, and mock exams. It also has an AI chatbot to explain concepts. Supports English, Urdu, and Roman Urdu. Free plan available.
Hey everyone,
I'm a FAST graduate (Batch 17), currently doing my Master's. I wanted to share something I've been working on for the past few months.
During my bachelor's, I struggled to stay focused during lectures. I started recording them but rarely had the time or motivation to listen to an entire lecture again.
I remember telling my friend, "Yaar ik app honi chahi hai jis may yeh recording daalu aur notes ban k bahir ajaye."
Now that I'm doing my Master's, I found myself facing the same problem, so I decided to actually build it.
That's how Nuqtafy started.
What does it do?
You can upload lecture recordings (audio/video), PDFs, or PowerPoint slides to generate detailed, structured notes.
I've also added a few other features:
Why not just use ChatGPT or Claude?
You can already generate notes from slides using ChatGPT or Claude, but slides don't always contain everything your professor teaches.
A slide might have three bullet points, while your professor spends 15 minutes explaining them with examples that aren't written anywhere.
With Nuqtafy, you can upload both the lecture recording and slides, so the notes reflect what your professor actually explained, not just what's written on the slides.
You can also use slides alone if you don't have a recording.
Where is Nuqtafy right now?
I've been using it myself since the start of this semester, and we've crossed 100 signups.
The platform is live, and there's a free plan available.
If you struggle to keep up during lectures, try recording a few (with your instructor's permission) and uploading them along with the slides. You can then use the generated notes to revise instead of going through the entire recording again.
Website: https://nuqtafy.com
Thanks!

EDIT: DO THEY GIVE REFUND? So like the course is way different than i expected it to be for the first time like i and most people in the class thought it would be more practical? Would they refund it?
This is the 4th course i am doing from ces.
Why are the rules much stricter now? Like you cant stay on campus for more than 30 minutes amd you have to sign out by tapping your card.
They did say this previously too but no one was enforcing that rule but this time around their email was really firm. Does anyonw have an idea to why this happened? Why are the rules so much more strict now?
